Wearable chocolate/cacao/coffee gourmand fragrance advice

Gents,

I'm already looking for something new for fall/winter, something with chocolate, coffee or cacoa. Must be readily available to sample and not overly expensive (so probably not niche). Preferrably something as versatile and wearable as possible but still with very prominent notes as mentioned above. I'm 22 years old and a graduate student in business. I've done some research and came up with:

Rochas Men by Rochas
A*Men (Angel Men) by Thierry Mugler
Play Intense by Givenchy
L'Instant de Guerlain pour Homme by Guerlain
Animale Men by Animale

Any tips for my search of a new gourmand fragrance? Thanks in advance!

ps. It has to compete with my current collection
Nautica Voyage
Roma Uomo by Laura Biagiotti
Fahrenheit by Christian Dior
Dior Homme Sport
Paco Rabanne Pour Homme
Dior Homme (sample)
Kokorico by Jean Paul Gaultier (sample)

L'Instant Extreme Pour Homme - Way better than the standard pour homme version.
Dior homme Intense - Cocoa and vanille.
+1 Dior Homme Intense
Based on your criteria:

L'instant de Guerlain Extreme
Dior Homme Intense
Rochas Man
Thierry Mugler Pure Coffee

If you do decide that you want niche:

Bond No.9 New Haarlem

You may also want to sample in the future:

Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille
Frederic Malle Musc Ravaguer

I think you would really enjoy what you mentioned and the following that has been mentioned. This is in somewhat order of preference for me. It does vary with L'Instant Extreme moving in the #1 spot.
Bond no 9 New Haarlem = Coffee, vanilla that has a slight maple syrup vibe.
L'Instant Extreme Pour Homme = A good amount of Cocoa with hints of anise, patchouli, citrus and sandalwood
L'Instant de Guerlain pour Homme = similar to extreme but less cocoa and more citrus
A*Men (Angel Men) by Thierry Mugler = Tar opening, caramel, coffee, patchouli
Rochas Men = Sweet coffee, vanilla and a touch of berry.
Play Intense by Givenchy

I'd say try Dior Homme Intense too, but also try (standard) Dior Homme as well. Although not my genre of fragrance, it's definitely good for what it is. Be prepared for a lot of vanilla in the intense version though.

Look no further than Chanel COROMANDEL.
Givenchy Play Sport is a Cafe Mocha in a bottle form. Definitely test first as this stuff is very strong, it's not for everyone.

I LOVE COROMANDEL however, I've never been able to pick out a coffee vibe. Maybe a bit of chocolate in its light sweetness.
Givenchy Play Intense is an awesome scent, however I can't really smell any chocolate in it.

You may want to try Givenchy Very Irresistible, this one has a pretty strong yet nice chocolate scent.
Yeah I would agree with and give a +1 Dior Homme Intense.

I also think AMen Pure Malt sounds more up your alley than the original pure malt based on what you have said you are after.

Musc Raveger would also go well although it has more of a cinnamon spin too it, still a lovely gourmond but probably getting up there in price for you.

Don't think you'll be disappointed with any of the above.

For chocolate: 1969 Parfum de Revolte from Histoires de Parfums
For cocoa : JPG Kokorico
For coffee : Mugler A*Men (my HATE SCENT) and Dior Eau Noire.

I couldn't agree with you more. Too overpowering and cloying!

Both great choices.

Kokorico, Blue Sugar, Animale Animale, Individuel.
Rochas Desir pour homme is great. It has a chocolate cedar combination that's awesome. You can get it pretty cheap too.

Dior Homme Intense

Coffee ====> Ava Lux Cafe Noire
Dior Homme Intense, super classy fragrance,
Cafe Noir, I have been told has an excellent and non-synthetic coffee vibe.
LaCoste Elegance (2007) has an interesting bitter chocolate note that you might like, with nutmeg and raspberry in the mix. Very nice.

The best suggestions have been made above, I will add
Penhaligons Endymion and Serge Lutens Borneo 1834.
My favorite in this genre is, by far, Cozè by Parfumerie Generale. A vibrant patchouli with an incredibly solid woody base and remarkable dark chocolate/coffe undertones.

I totally agree with the Endymion suggestion--it is a really beautiful scent.

Everything is wearable, as long as you can wear it.

L'Instant De Guerlain Pour Homme Extreme

Dior Homme Intense

Serge Lutens Borneo 1834

You know, I discovered that I did not have any cocoa smelling things either, so based on some recommendations I read here ( in the "What perfume makes you happy?" thread) in the last few days I was able to pick up a decant of :

L'instant de Guerlain PH Eu Extreme

As you will see from the above posts, a heck of a lot of people recommenced this stuff, and I found it wonderful too.

Plus it has the sort of projection and longevity that's all too rare these days.

I can't claim to be an expert on chocolate smelling frags, but this one's a winner in my book.
Musc Maori 04 by Parfumerie generale. A nice cacoa scent. I just got a sample of this the other day.

So I managed to get a full wear of A*Men, I must say, I like it. It's not as chocolate'y as I expected but very sweet and somehow it is more than just a sugarbomb, very complex scent and lasts long on the skin.
I don't like Kokorico, the combination of the herbs (black pepper was very prominent) and the gourmand notes didn't appeal to me. Now I'm going to hunt down some others!

Play Intense is a great one.
Pure Coffee may be to your liking as well.

Do try:

Rochas Man by Rochas - In its opening, a pleasing lavender and bergamot arouse the senses. From afar, a sweet and creamy vanilla bobs eagerly. Thankfully, the lavender remains throughout the composition to rein in the sweetness. The tantalizing vanilla does intrude on that grassy lavender, and brings its sugary sweetness to the fore, steering it to its heart. The middle beckons, stewing with its coffee, semi-sweet chocolate, cedar, and rasberry notes, as well as some, lovely jasmine and lily-of-the-valley accords. The sweet vanilla blends nicely with the heart, creating a delicious mocha cafe, with hints of wood and floral twinkling. The smooth base with its amber, sandalwood, and glimpses of patchouli, usurps the melange, softening it, and evolves into its enticing drydown. It's a well-constructed gourmand. This delightful fragrance's longevity is good; and its projection is average for the first 3 hours, then sticks to the skin.

&

Play Intense by Givenchy - Upon application, one is pleasantly treated to a refreshing duet of nectarous, mandarin tangerine and somewhat tart bergamot. Tumbling to the waiting middle, the citrus mixes with the slightly spicy and fruity pink pepper and coffee tree wood to brew a sweet, cocoa concoction, and flows to the wondrous base. Transitioning, multifaceted labdanum kidnaps the cocoa mixture and morphs the cocoa into a not unpleasant, tar-like, burnt coffee. The syrupy coffee joins with the woody vetiver, the sweet patchouli, the spicy vanilla of the tonka beans, and the soft, balsamic amyris wood to exude an awesome, mocha drydown. A delectable treat, this radiant composition has excellent longevity and very good projection.

L'Heure Défendue (Cartier)

Bitter Dark Cacao / Patchouli / Cashmeran.

I vote DHI. LIDGE and Play Intense

Don't judge: Michael Jordan Legend.

Bond No. 9 New Haarlem and Rochas Man had a baby. Very inexpensive. Cheap enough to blind buy. You might even find it at a Ross or TJ Maxx in your town.

This fragrance is exactly what you described (wearable coffee/cocoa) and its great.
Did rhey re release L'instant de Guerlain PH Eu Extreme and I didn't know about it? I am also looking for a good coffee mocha scent . I'm going to try and sample Bond No.9 I Love New York For All. I heard it was a better New Haarlem which was way to sweet for me.

I'll add Givenchy Very Irresistible to what's been mentioned above .

I would agree with this, however, at the Mid/Base, it transforms into a Citrus fragrance, so something to be mindful of.

Perhaps Michael Jordan Legend may be what your after? Play Intense is a good suggestion as well.

Dior Homme Intense for sure.

I find Guerlain L'Instant Extreme to be very overrated both in terms of scent and longevity of the scent.

The ultimate gourmand, edible, deliscious fragrance out there that I can think of is...

Serendipity3's "Serendipitous"

...Get it on Amazon for like $40. It's marvelous. NIche and a well kept secret.

Try Jo Malone Black Vetyver Café . No chocolate, but that coffee is great!
Try Elixir des Merveilles by Hermes. Marketed to women, it's easily wearable by a guy. Smells like chocolate covered orange peel and salt.
