I prefer Bel Ami.

My husband wore the vintage Bel Ami yesterday and I couldn't get enough of his smell. The leatheriness is so smooth.

guys i have no way of sampling this - i like leather/fougere/spicy stuff - but i disliked Boucheron Homme EDP it wasnt bad - but it wasnt good either, i've sampled this equipage and belami before - but cant recall but i vaguely remember, that i like one of this but i cant remember which one! - So Far it looks like BEL AMI!

Bel Ami

Bel Ami current formulation.

Despite multiple revisits, I cannot come to terms with Bel-Ami, which I find a typical dated 80s herbal leather, albeit more refined than most. Whereas Equipage's unique charms grow on me with each wear.

Bel Ami I guess but you can do better if you like leather scents. Knize 10 or Leather Oud will curb your craving.

None of the Hermes reformulations do it for me.

vintage Bel Ami

I have vintage Equipage and new Bel Ami and far, FAR prefer Bel Ami. Equipage is OK, but it's got this rough almost crude 1970's feel to it whereas Bel Ami is smooth and timeless. There are times when I enjoy Equipage, but up against Bel Ami (of any formulation), it can't compete in my book.

Cut your lunch budget and buy both.
Personally, I'd go for bel ami, preferably old shaker bottle

Not a fair contest -- Bel Ami is one of the nicest creations of all time, let alone matching it against one of the lesser Hermes lights.
