Dior 'Jules'

Hi guys,

Is this bottle of Jules the vintage formula or the newer formula? I know it's not the original brown bottle it once came in, but I have a feeling it is still vintage, probably from the 1980s:

Form what I gather, the only new bottle looks like this:

If anyone can confirm this, please let me know!!

I own Jules in two types of bottles, the original dark brown, rounded shouldered one, and the clear ribbed one shown in the first photo. I'm not familiar with the one in the second photo, which is the latest version.

I'm guessing that the clear ribbed bottle replaced the dark brown one in the '90s and was used until just a few years ago. I think my ribbed bottles date from the early 2000s.

I'd recommend getting the dark brown or ribbed bottle over the latest one if you can. The way Dior has been drastically reformulating its fragrances recently doesn't bode well for the newest version.

I can :-)
The first one, I ve bought in 2001 in St Tropez, France.
The second, the one from sephora, my sister in law buyed for me last week in Paris, in the sephora shop..
I can say that the last one, is not so strong anymore, a much softer Jules than the first bottle, and ofcourse, as the original.
In fact, I wear the new Jules today and nobody noticed it :-( (even I did nt)...

So, I would not buy it again !

Real vintage Jules was in a splash bottle, not a spray. I bought it in ca. 1980 in Moscow.

I've got a small splash bottle of the original Jules and it's waaaaaaaaaayyyy stronger than the one currently available in Sephora. I doused myself in this in the Spanish heat recently and 2hrs later could hardly smell it - very disappointing - glad I didn't spend the £70 it would have cost me to buy it. Shame really 'cos it smelled pretty good, just badly lacking in strength & longevity.

I have "middle" version bought in early 2000s. It had me getting used to it for a dozen and a half wears. A kind of beast.
Never had a chance to smell original vintage though.

Here it seems to be for sale the original Jules, sealed box. An aftershave not EDT. From a 100% -positive feedback eBay seller.
The price is quite hefty though.

The sealed box seems to be from the year 1987 (checkcosmetics.net)
