Which one do you like better? I know some people believe they are similar, at least in the opening, but even for those that do not see the similarities, which one do you prefer?
I prefer Original Vetiver by far.

Jack Hunter, how is the longevity for you in regards to Original Vetiver?

I have both Original Vetiver and Mugler cologne on my arms right now. It's hard to choose whether to get a 4.2 oz of Mugler Cologne for $40 or 2.5 oz of Original Vetiver for $100.

I get six to seven hours but for me this really comes alive when its really hot and gives off that citrus magic.

I picked OV in the poll, because it didn't say anything about price/value. I give the nod to OV, but if you are on a budget, Mugler Cologne is an excellent alternative. I have both and love them both. Can't go wrong either way IMO.

I have and like both but prefer OV.

I've sampled both side-by-side. While they are both very similar, the differences make me lean towards OV. MC has a sweet note and OV is more citrusy. In regards to longevity, MC didn't last long on me and I got decent longevity from OV.

I'll go with TM Cologne because it's a better value.....Gary

Thanks for the votes, guys. I smelled them both from start to finish and I have to say, I like Original Vetiver more. To me, it's just more complex and more pleasing in general. I think I'll pick up a 2.5 oz tester or something.

This.

There are subtle differences, but not enough to justify the humoungous price difference.

good choice, enjoy your Original Vetiver..

OV by far

Tom Ford Grey Vetiver is superior to both of these IMO.
The two are very similar but I gotta go with Mugler Cologne at 1/5 the price.

I agree. Better citrus and vetiver notes. Also, it falls in between the price of OV and MC.

I like both, but for the price difference Mugler wins...

Mugler Cologne

Enjoy your Original Vetiver. That would have been my choice as well.

As far as I am concerned, I like both, but would have probably chosen OV.

Mugler Cologne for me.

I say Mugler Cologne b/c it came out first and smells great for cheaper.

Though very similar - they're also pretty different at the same time.

Mugler Cologne is so airy and almost atmospheric, it's like the fragrance that isn't a fragrance.

OV has more body, and is a more complete fragrance, but I'm not sure that makes it better or worse.

To me, I'd call it a draw. Two good interpretations of the same ballpark.

I have both and prefer Mugler Cologne myself. To me, it stays much fresher and cleaner in the drydown than OV. OV is great up top, but I don't like that "rooty", earthy note in the base (the vetiver mixed with ambergris I guess). It just feels dirtier to me. (but then again, I don't like most of Creed's dry downs as I'm not a fan of ambergris and find it too animalic for my tastes).

Prefer OV but both are good.

Mugler Cologne.
I don't really care for either, as I am not a fan of citrus/vetiver's very much. I would choose Mugler though, as I find OV to be very heavy and buttery in the opening, deeming it unwearable. although its drydown is nice. If I had my druthers, I would pick Bois Blonds, Grey Vetiver, or even PS Story, if I had to pick a citrus/vetiver.

OV

It's better.
At retail, it's not worth it, but at online discount prices, OV is the big winner. it's got a certain citrus magic nbo other scent has, and it does "clean leafy/herbal green" better than almost any other scent besides Selection Verte or Sisley Eau De Campagne.
