am i the only one who prefers dior homme to dior homme intense?

i know i'm in a minority here. dior homme intense is similar to dior homme, but it has more iris (make-up note), more vanilla and cocoa. while i really like sweet fragrances, i really think the sweetening of dior homme makes it a little more effiminate (and i usually like mens fragrances that are considered feminine). dior homme, is overall, maybe simpler, but more masculine and more focused, and i easily prefer dior homme, even though both aren't bad choices.

am i alone?

I just find DHI more sweeter and more fruity. I much prefer DH, though its recent reformulation isn't the best.

I prefer the original Dior Homme over DHI, but I love both.

I'm not a huge fan of gourmands in general, and put off purchasing DHI until it was becoming reformulated, snagging a couple bottles of the original formulation. I had been wary of the increased cocoa and sweetness, which is why I waited so long to buy it, but I was surprised at how much I liked it.

Even so, I like Dior Homme more, with its stronger iris and suede notes and lesser sweetness.

I agree with Noggs.

I only get four hours longevity with DH where I get twelve hours with DHI. Both are good though and worth having especially the vintage versions.

I have issues with longevity of both DH and DHI. The latter only lasts on me like a vanilla bomb had exploded there five seconds ago. It remained on my clothes for like a week, but all I could still smell was vanilla. Now, don't get me wrong, I like vanilla, but in that quantity I could easily make enough cake to feed the US army.

I prefer the DH, but for the reasons above I have decided against purchasing a bottle of either.

I have and like both equally.

I'm with you, Dior Homme smells to my nose much more appealing than Dior Homme Intense.

Have and enjoy both but certainly have worn DHI more. I'm not even entirely sure where my bottle of DH is. Might have to dig it out this weekend.

I very much prefer Dior Homme. Dior Homme Intense has a plasticky vibe and too much vanilla imo.

The original Dior Homme is amazing. Dior Homme Intense is nice but the amplified cocoa note and milky sweetness kinda ruins it for me. Felt like I just had a tub of Milo dumped on me.

I prefer Dior Homme. I can wear DH anytime anyplace and it's great at work. DHI is very sweeting and best at night.

I, too, prefer the EDT. DHI is far too sweet for me, and I don't really get along with chocolate. It's the same reason I can't really do L'instant de Guerlain EDP.

a member on this forum said DHI smelled like an old tranny's purse. not too far off lol.

I don't find DHI sweeter at all.

I slightly prefer DHI, but I easily can see why someone would like the original better. It's certainly more versatile and easier to wear. Great fragrance!

I prefer the original by far, the balance and proportions are perfect. I'd love a real EDP version of the original, since DHI is essentially a different fragrance when you think about it.

I love both and it is really hard to choose one from the other. Its more of an occasion to me since DHI is more casual and DH is a class higher. Then again thats just how I feel

To the OP; No you're not! I like & own DH, while not particularly caring for DHI. I've sampled Intense several times and find it a little overpowering. Not for me at this point.
