Hey guys I have got blessed with another sephora gift card. Last time I bought Gucci guilty intense. So I need your help once again picking a fragrance but this time I am thinking on ordering it online because they have a better selection than my local store. I have started adding bolder scents to my collection so do you guys know of any scents from sephora online that has great projection and great longevity? I already have gucci guilty intense and givenchy's play which I both got from sephora. Also, my scent taste are anyhwere from Giorgio by beverly hills to CK one shock to Platinum by chanel. Any suggestions will help. Thank you and looking forward to your comments.

This or Gucci Pour Homme II if you don't have that yet.
^ yeah gucci ph 2 is a good one also. test them both and see which one you like better
post #5 of 49
Gucci Pour Homme II or Fahrenheit if you don't have it.
Dior Homme is a good choice. For something bold, I'd go with Bulgari Black.

As stated, Dior Homme, Fahrenheit and Bvlgari Black are all very nice.
I actually just bought a 3.4oz Gucci PH 1 today at sephora by dumb luck haha they also had the first formulation of Dior Homme.
Dior Homme would be a nice pick up with fall coming up. So would Tom Ford Extreme.
Fahrenheit, La Nuit de L'homme, A*Men, or Boss Bottled would be it for me.

I have never smelled Bulgari black. Can you give me an idea on what it's similar too?

I was eying the A*men just not convinced yet if I can pull it off.

I seen the Tom ford extreme but I have only sampled the original. Can you give an idea of what the extreme smells like? thanks

For me, Bvlgari Black is vanilla and rubber, but like a fresh rubber. Very pleasing and rather unique.
I can't believe nobody has said Dior Homme or Gucci PH 2 yet! Go with one of those.
They also have about 5 different Hermes fragrances.....
Another vote for Dior Homme. Heck, even the Sephoras inside Penney's (like the one near me) carry it now.
+1 Dior Homme. Fahrenheit would be my 2nd suggestion followed by YSL L'homme or La Nuit.
Dont forget to give us an update, OP.
They have Terre d Hermes online and in some stores. Grab it
post #25 of 49
Basically, what others have mentioned: Dior Homme first above all else, then Gucci Pour Homme (i) if they still have any stock, Terre d'Hermes, A*Men, Eau Sauvage, and Bvlgari Black.
Go for Dior Eau Sauvage Parfum IMO.

Fahrenheit is also wonderful.
I say Dior Homme, Fahrenheit or YSL La Nuit.
All of these suggestions are great picks for fragrances, but none of them are even close to being a safe blind buy.

Ok guys seems Dior Homme is winning alongside La nuit and bulgari black. I seen some Dior eau savage suggestions as well. so between Dior homme,la nuit, bulgari black, Eau savage, hermes, which wins out of these in being a bold long lasting fragrance? thanks again
post #30 of 49
Dior Homme....homie. lasts well on me. La Nuit also lasts quite good (its cardamony, i.e. sweet spicy, kind of like cinnamon...while Dior Homme is my pick if you like a bit more interesting, yet sexy, and very modern fragrances)

They have testers in Sephora, so whichever one your nose finds ebst.

They all have great longevity. (I'm not sure about Bulgari Black, not to be critical, I haven't tested for it, but all of the other ones have great longevity.

In the end Dior Homme is the best, in my opinion. But you may like the sweetness of La Nuit, the peppery-earthy feel of Hermes or the rubbery tea aroma of Bulgari Black. So, don't let a forum of strangers decide.

Hey Guys I did not forget to update but sorry its taken awhile to get back. I went by my local sephora and I was able to sniff some out and the lady was able to give me a few samples of some of the ones i liked. thes first was of couse Dior Homme 2. John varvatos vintage. 3. Dolce and gabanna the one gentlemen 4. Safara by RL..... They didn't have a sample of lanuit by ysl or encounter by calvin klein but I am going to try full wearings of these and check back in a few days to let u know whch one I choose....... From the samples I got what do you guys think of them?
Do they sell Exceptional - Because you are? If so, I'd grab that.
Problem with most sephoras are they are too clustered. You walk in, a million people have been spraying cologne/perfume, and it's hard to get a good smell of what you're sampling due to all the contaminants in the air.
Caution: the sephoras I've been to have vintage Dior homme testers but reformulated DH for sale! Both are excellent but just want to mention that so you don't get surprised when you get home expecting vintage.
If you see Gucci Pour Homme II there, SNAG IT!!! It's been discontinued and it's excellent.

+1. Can't believe they discontinued it - especially since Tea for Two has also been discontinued. Gucci could have cornered the Tea frag market with this!
I remember when Gucci pour Homme (i) was plentiful at Sephora. Not long ago at all. Crazy.

Thank you for the heads up. Now that I think of it the sample she gave me was from the tester not an actual bottle. Can you share how the differences are from vintage to the reformulated???
Fear not: the current Dior Homme is very similar to the vintage. The main difference is that the vintage has a bit more iris and less lavender in the top, and feels a bit smoother moving into the middle. The newest version, however, is actually more robust and long-lasting, with a bit more emphasis on that amazing iris-suede-cacao dry down. The vintage is indeed very nice, but the newest formulation is also fantastic and nothing to avoid.
Agree completely with onethinline on vintage vs reform DH! Both are winners so don't be disappointed if you get one vs. other.

Frags I would get from Sephora (consistent with many others have said above) in no particular order:

1. Dior Homme
2. Nuit L'Homme YSL
3. Dior Fahrenheit
4. Kenzo Power
5. GPH2
6. Blvgari Black
7. Grey Vetiver TF

Hey guys I wanted to get you an update and let you know I finally made my purchase yesterday. I thank all of you for your suggestions and really appreciate your insights. I have to say when I went to the store and got a few tester vials I was surprised by some and utterly dissapointed in others. Let me start with Dior Homme this was the most promising one but after a few wearings I could not get past the lipstick note at the top. Yes it has good projection and longevity and at the mid to the end the warm spices you get are amazing but I just could not get over smelling like something in my wife's make up bag. The second is about the same and that is YSL le nuit the difference for me with this one is that it smelled like mascara and my skin ate this fragrance up I got little to no longevity out of this one i think 3 hours tops and thats it. I was really impressed with Ysl Libre it's strong and has great longevity but i have found i like smelling this from afar or on someone else because on my skin its way to sweet. Safara by RL was good but did not last at all same with Vintage by John varvatos. So without further a due I will share with you what Purchase I made READY?? And the winner goes toooo...... DING DING DING DING DING....... EUPHORIA INTENSE BY CALVIN KLEIN lol......... I know this house has gotten alot of slack over the years but I think they had a few that were bottle worthy which is this one, Calvin klein man, And Ck one shock. When I sampled this i have to admit it took me abit to warm up to this but after a few testings and wearings I fell in love with it. It's strong, smells great, and outlasted Dior, YSL, and all the other I sampled and this screams masculine and I love it. Anyways, thanks again for all of your inputs and If you have any comments on Euphoria intense I would love to hear your comments likes dislikes.
