Encre Noire vs Narciso Rodriguez for Him

So I have EN and I love it. With autumn approaching it will be getting plenty of wear. I have heard these two compared as dark frags. How do they stack up against each other? Which is more masculine? Which has better longevity/projection? Also, I have heard NR reminds people of Fahrenheit. I don't know what it is in Fahrenheit (probably the violet note) but to me it smells like cucumbers and I don't enjoy it because it gives me a feminine vibe. Does NR have that accord, (it does have violet leaf listed as a note) and if so, is it more or less prominent than it is in Fahrenheit?

Wow. I never thought of those two as similar. Then again, the Iso E in Encre Noir absolutely kills it for me. Narciso Rodriguez for him is very high on my need-to-try list.

I tried Narciso Rodriguez just once but from what I remember Encre Noire is more masculine, dark and has better longevity. NR reminds me Fahrenheit Absolute.

I know theres a lot of fan base of for Encre Noire, but i personally prefer Narciso Rodgriguez; i find the
semi-floral musk stupendously successful ; i consider this a masterpiece.

Encre noire is my pick all day long. Beautiful dark earthy vetiver for a decent price. To me it smells very similar to agar musk by Ramon monegal....but at a f-r-a-c-t-I-o-n of the cost! I don't see the comparison with NR sorry

Other than being somewhat dark and brooding, each scent is quite different.

However, I would caution you that Narciso Rodriguez for Him by Narciso Rodriguez does have lovely violet leaves, with their inherent freshness, inspiring an exquisitely extreme, green aura akin to grass clippings with a shading of cucumber, in the heart; and sampling by you should be availed.

Moreover, Narciso Rodriguez for Him is extremely masculine and has very good projection, 4-5 hour scent cloud, and longevity, 7-12 hours - easy on the trigger is the catchphrase here. But, as you know Encore Noire by Lalique is no slouch in these regards either.

I would be hard put to favor one over the other.

Both nice but both not entirely perfect. Encre Noire can be a bit scratchy, at least it felt like that when I was wearing it one time, other times I enjoy it. NR gets pretty sweet, a little too much so for my taste. Prefer EN.

I find Narciso Rodriguez for Him is a very muted fragrance. I picture a »scent cloud« when wearing it; in this respect I perceive it completely different than Encre Noir with its sharp, razor-like »definition«.

I smell them as very different, you have to be into a very strange, heavy musk scent if you want to wear NR. Im a much bigger fan of EN.

They are completely different and I strongly prefer Encre Noir of the two. Probably NR should be compared to Micallef's White Sea if anything (and I easily prefer White Sea)...

I've just used Encre Noir I can say it's a beast....3 sprays on me last like 10 hours amazing and very dark in fact I'm the kind of guy that associate perfumes with clothes....so when wearing dark clothes I use encre noir that day

That is the weirdest thing I've ever heard anyone say about Fahrenheit. Are you sure we are smelling the same fragrance? To me it's ultra masculine.

I find Narciso more genius in creation. I own both but to me they are not substitutes. They work very well for different occasions. I prefer NR in a dark grey day when it is rainy outside. NR is full of emotions.

Yeah I created a post about this a while back. Everyone disagreed with me so I'm 99% sure its some weird anomaly. And yes I'm a thousand % sure it's Fahrenheit and from 2 different bottles, no doubt about it.
