Good morning. Autumn is upon us. Such a welcome change from the swelterning heat of Tokyo.

I'm testing Dita von Teese on my left wrist and Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille on my right. I keep going back to sniff my right wrist. A boozy, yummy vanilla with a hint of tobacco? Has anyone noticed this?

LL

I'll be taking a 10 minute break this afternoon to meditate on love and world peace and remember those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks of 2001.

Good Morning,

Happy Birthday, Lilybelle ! Many fragrant returns to you
Well done to Murray. I have to admit - I was one of the naysayers. Never thought he'd win a Slam, so it is humble pie for tea tonight.
Guerlain's Liu for me today.
Best to all.

Hello all. Happy Birthday Lilybelle.

One of those days I woke up and a fragrance just called me. I was looking at others, but no Alpona shouted out, hey long time no see. Suddenly the memory of it just burst into my head. So yes its Alpona, early 00s version.

After having tested Ineke's Balmy Days and Sundays (a marvellous name, but couldn't get over the bug spray effect - had to wash it off!), now I'm in a tiny whiff of robust Al Oudh.

Happy birthday to Lillybelle

I'm wearing Dior's Miss Dior Cherie today. Far too girly and sweet for an old lady like me, off course, but I kinda like it anyways. I own the version with text printed directly onto the bottle. Is the later version (with regular label) much different?

LadyM, that is a lovely, appropriate thought and I will join you in doing likewise today.

I am in Fragrance B from the Blind Sniff (L., when you can, cacio wanted you there for a moment or two, please?), easy not peasy for me, done in the shades of ivory-beige-brown and burnt orange in Emilio Pucci style and the music to accompany is The Moody Blues Isn't Life Strange?

To remember 911, please tell people you love how much you care, OK?

Thank you so much for the lovely birthday wishes!! I love you all. ♥ I usually start the day off sadly, in tears of remembrance. But I will celebrate later...because it is good to be alive, to experience Love and Joy. I am writing this from my birthday present: a laptop with a version of Microsoft that is so far beyond me that I am a bit overwhelmed. I will catch up, but I am currently both excited by my new toy and frustrated by my ignorance. 30 Roses, that is a beautiful photo! I am impressed with your skills. Roberto, thank you, dear! Love to everybody. You are all invited to the birthday party later.

SotM is Eau des 4 Reines by L'Occitane.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAREST!!!!!!!!

I'm wearing about three days of natural FUNK today, so I suppose Molinard's "Patchouli" is in order, just to make the picture complete, while I brave the.....ugh.....SUPERMARKET. (I will know this is your birthday, so, as I did the last time I went food shopping, which was, what? three months ago? I'll mentally do it with you: Hopefully, this time all the fresh fruits & veggies won't just ROT.) TOMORROW: I will begin living with a Camera Crew--and I had better get used to them--as they will be my bed-fellows from now all the way through Paris Fashion Week. Today, being an icky dirty street urchin, I will drench myself in Patchouli, then, in honour of your birthday, bump it with some Chantilly!

Nobody needs to post here: "Ewe!!!! leMdM, You Stink!" -I totally get that. Any way: You all smell so good that I consider myself the Civet to your Jicky. Let us all approach the day with our hearts full of LOVE. It's the only way. Remorse, Anger, Resentment, Fear: This is what they wanted. Let's all band together and *refuse* to give it to them.
I got called in to play piano for the tiny ballerinas in a while, and since I'm strangely concerned with their strong little opinions, I had to rethink my beautiful vintage Sinan ...four-yr. olds tend not to appreciate classic chypres, lol! So since it's lilybelle's special day and a favorite of hers, I scrubbed a bit ...actually, a lot, then chose the sparkly raspberry violets (or are they violet raspberries?) of Insolence edt ...ooh, I hope the little girlies like it!!

I haven't been on in a while, I've been incredibly busy and in a weird moody, angsty, teenager funk. I haven't even really worn scent all that much these past 2 weeks or so. But I decided on Volupte by Oscar De La Renta for today. It's slightly chilly here and I'm about to run to the library, and the post office on my bike, I haven't ridden my bike in forever [it stayed in NJ when I went to Cleveland] Happy Birthday Lilybelle I hope you enjoy your day. positive thoughts everyone.

Le Mouchoir de Monsieur...you stink great!! Nobody gets stinkier with more panache than you! ♥ Please buy yourself some red meat and veggies at the store. And EAT them! You know I am wishing you all the very best with what's coming up. Thank you for the birthday wishes.

And thank you, LadyM and Evangeline! Funny, I almost went for Insolence this morning. Maybe later today.

God bless you all! It is a day today like that one 11 years ago, but along with the remembrance of loss there is also the Hope of Joy to look forward to.

Much love to everybody.

p.s. Mike in Azuree, lMdM in Chantilly, Evangeline in Insolence...I'm going to wear them all too!! At the same time, so I can STINK too!!

Twolf, I'm back in Virginia, I have been for a little over a week now, though it feels longer. I am so glad of this cooler weather.

CAKE! Looking at the cakes makes me want cake. I think I will buy mself one today. A pastel frosted cake to make me smile.

If ever there was a reason for our BN family to uncork the champagne, it’s Lilybelle’s birthday.
Hugs and Kisses, Dear One!
I'm happy about your new toy.

On impulse I layered Bulgari Au Thé Blanc and Borsari Macchia Mediterranea this morning, and wow if they aren’t better together than either one alone!

The clean, austere white tea is like the string of a necklace that holds the herbal notes of Mach Med together in a more attractive alignment. I am happily amazed!

Evening All,

Had a wonderful experience this evening: I passed a youngish woman on my road who was radiating a 10 foot aura of No.5. It was all I could do to stop myself saying something !

Anyway, Chanel Cuir de Russie ( Exclusifs EdT) .

Best to all.

Happy Birthday, Lilybelle!

Today I'm going light on the fragrance, since I will be teaching children later this afternoon. And they are sometimes sensitive to scent. So I'm wearing Eau de Cologne Imperiale, which lasts about 2 seconds, but smells great for those 2 secs.

Happy Birthday Lilybelle!!! Have your cake, and eat it too!

Andy finally did it - congrats to the Brits out there on having a champion finally again.

And a sigh and moment of thought for 911 - I like MdM's version of "non-revenge" - lets do our love thang and live on!

Fendi Theorema Esprit d'Ete again today.
So much today. First, Thank You Ladymurasaki, and ROBERTO for beginning our day with respectful remembrance.

Lilibellelula. It's your birthday!! Oh Many Happy Returns to a wonderful gel!! As cello says, have your cake AND it eat it. Luv ya luv ya luv ya. Smooch.

..And look who has popped into your party, it is LeMDM himself!

Yes boys, well done to Andy Murray!

So, to fragrance....played with some Bex Londoner samples today. Now, for some reason I feel like something sharp and bitter, so either Sous Le Vent, or maybe Cabochard in a little while. A good dose I think.

Take Care everyone.

^So pretty, 30 Roses - very nice pic! They really are just such perfect little bells ...sweet, dear and delicate.

I just sprayed a bunch of Shalimar Parfum Initial over the dry-down of Insolence ...heavenly.

Now, even though we've seen this ol' meme a million times, it still makes me laugh ...but more importantly, it's still useful on birthdays of dog-lovers, so I thought I'd use it to say
Happy Birthday to lilybelle one more time.

Evangeline, what a funny picture!

I'm wearing vintage Shalimar parfum today.

30R; they are just so lovely! You've captured the delicate and pure quality of the flower perfectly. Nature photography can be addictive once you get into it. I caught myself taking pictures of a moth the other day, which I never thought I would do when I started photography years ago.

It smells and looks like a party in here. What beautiful pictures! 30 Roses, those are lovely. Kumquat, thank you! Evangeline, my dog is white, too - but she has a black nose and big brown eyes. She might pose like that for a chicken or lamb chop cake.

Thank you again for the birthday wishes, everyone. You have made my day. As my avatar may tell you, I am thoroughly enjoying having a birthday today. The Mister is having a shower and then we're going out for sushi (my day, my choice). SotE is...Insolence edt.

kalli,

I still have my Canon AT-1 that I took to Africa, with all its lenses and filters, and I loved using that thing. I caught some great shots. But I stopped using it when our daughter was born. I didn't have time to do all that focusing and metering--when the baby smiled, I had to catch it fast!

So we bought an autofocus 35mm and used it for years until it broke down on the last afternoon of our vacation in DC. That one got replaced with the digital we use now. Maybe someday when my daughter is grown, I'll get a decent digital SLR. Or maybe that ship has sailed...not sure I want to go back to lugging around a camera case with all the lenses. My joints don't appreciate it anymore.
