Gucci Pour Homme II as a Fall Signature

How do you guys feel about GPHII as a signature Fall scent? Is it fitting?

Also, how is it with compliments? Is the projection too minimal to be considered a decent compliment-getter?

Any other input welcome, thank you!
It's an ok smell imo, but for fall there's just much more season fitting fragrances out there (tea>>>Midnight in Paris, cinnamon>>>Original Santal). I am in the crowd where this is a "weak" fragrance as far as power goes.

It projects pretty well for me. It would be great for Fall.
This one can be worn at anytime and anyway as it really is a versatile frag.

IMO Yes. Especially if you like it.

This is a strange one, in my opinion. It works very differently for different people. So many seem to get poor longevity from it, but I easily get 12+ hours from 2 or 3 sprays. It smells fantastic.

Jack Hunter's comment above perfectly sums up GphII. Excellent versatility. Whatever you think you're buying it for, you'll find out that's just the beginning. For me, GphII was supposed to be a spring date-scent. I ended up wearing it all summer long, and it's become something I can wear anywhere, at any time. The only thing I can't say is how well it would work in the winter since we don't really get winter where I live.

If you like this one, BUY IT NOW. Gucci has confirmed they're discontinuing it. When their current supply is gone, it's gone.

P.S. the bottle is a work of art.

I think that Gucci Pour Homme I might be even better suited to fall.
Great fall scent. It's the spicy black tea and tobacco. Never too heavy and can be worn almost anytime and anywhere. Projection and longevity are good on my skin. Yeah it's a compliment getter.

Thanks everybody. Anyone else?
It's a good choice. Very nice fragrance IMO and as previously stated it is wonderfully versatile.
I have a decant of it and a bottle came in recently, I may try to get another bottle as a back up or something.. I like the scent .
Gucci phII is my fall signature and also my girlfriends favorite
post #14 of 45
One of my very favorites. Bought 2 bottles last week to stock up. It it a little soft and weaker than most, but it can be worn anytime anywhere. Great stuff!
I think I may purchase this...sampled it at Sephora and got about 5 hours out of it before I washed up for a night out. Since it's being discontinued I will probably definitely get me a bottle.
Good scent and good choice for autumn too in my opinion.
This is a great scent for the Fall.
Do we know for a fact this one has been discontinued? Can anyone provide a source/link to this information? Thanks.
To me it's an all year rounder except summer. In spring it gives its best, in winter it's not a failure. I think there was a thread in fact, a year ago, where a member put quite a good pic of it by the window, if my memory serves me well, lobbying - sort to speak - for it to be the winter juice and I almost agree with that.
Unsure about the compliments, but for anything else, I think it might be suitable as a fall signature fragrance.

It has a very low key stylishness which might develop quite interestingly in cooler, damper weather.

I think it fits the fall perfectly

Beautiful scent, especially in autumn/winter. Yes, it is a little light, but far from the worst.

I think I'm going to stock up before it's gone!

I'll wait to hear something official before anything.

It would suck to not get a GPHII while I can, and wait for a potential intense version that may never come out, or may come out and be a possible fail of a flanker (which has happened in the past).

The only thing I know is that I called Gucci and was told it had been discontinued and would disappear from their site and retailers when their stock was gone, similar to how Gucci Pour Homme went away a few months ago. That's exactly what I was told... but I was speaking with someone at customer service, not someone high up in the company.

This is one of the rare times that I've done exactly that. I now have 2 x 100ml bottles of it. It will be such a shame if this one is discontinued because it is one of those products that flies the flag proudly for designer frags.

Such an underrated gem.

The tea-violet-olive leaf-musc blend is pure elegance. If it was a Xerjoff people would gladly pay 3 times the price for it. It doesn't project loudly nor is it avant-garde but I can't think of any occassion where it wouldn't be a good fit.

I want to cop out from analysing this frag because it more about the masterful blending than it is about dissecting each note. Nor do I want to post a review of it here, that gets old pretty quickly. There are only so many times I can read: " Initially, one is treated to...".

It smells great, and for the moment it is still available. Get it while you can!

Such an underrated gem.

I agree. Lately I'm sorry I don't have a backup bottle of GPH I and II both XD

Agree with Francolino - an underrated gem.

If longevity is poor for you, decant some to a 5 ml atomizer or something and carry it with you. They're cheap as chips and kinda nifty for poor longevity.

And if projection is less than desirable, either use a bit more or just accept the fact that your fragrance will not knock people out. It can be a good thing once in a while
post #30 of 45
I think it's perfectly suited to be a fall signature. Definitely one of my (& my wife's) favorites & am sad it's been discontinued. Only hope i can afford to get a backup bottle soon.

If it is good enough for Chuck Norris, it is good enough for me!
I really enjoy it and think it can be worn whenever. It seems to work great on my skin. It's one of my scents that I can smell on myself with one spray for hours.
guess I will stockpile it from Sephora, Brescia, Italy three big bottles left!
I think it would suit the Fall but it falls down for me because of it's longevity. It has no projection beyond my skin after an hour.
Definitely a good choice.
I've never encountered anyone who dislikes it...
Wearing it today, as the result of reading this thread yesterday. Fantastic stuff. BTW - it seems to be fully stocked in every shop in Paris and Frankfurt.
This one can be worn year round! Enjoy!

I tend to agree.

No pun intended. I hadn't noticed that.
BTW, I just wore 2 sprays of Gucci PH ll over the top of 1 spray of Cartier's Declaration. It seems to cancel out the "BO" note of Declaration to some degree and give the Gucci a bit more oomph.
Worth a try for anyone with access to both I believe.
definitely Yes...one of my fav.
I also decided to purchase GPH2 online since it's no more available in my country. I have sniffed it only once somewhat half a year ago and as far as I can remember I think it was nice. Hope the longevity is not as bad as it seems to be on some ppl. Projection is not that big a deal since I don't want to kill any1 with my frags. Hope I get my nice looking bottle of GPH2 real soon!

It's a very nice bottle for sure. Really solid cube bottle with click fitting lid.
I think that GHP I is a much better option for fall and just generally a better scent.
Honestly, it works for any season.
I've learned over the last few months that there really isn't a way of placing certain fragrances into categories based on season. If it's too hot, be careful. That is the only rule I follow now.
GPH 2 does tend to lack in projection though (and apparently longevity according to some, but it lasts long enough on me).
Whilst all comments here can be seconded, on me is it close to my skin and works best in warmer spring weather. Nonetheless, as already re-iterated, a very versatile, underrated and quite unique Gucci-Tom-Ford creation.
