So I'm looking for a fragrance that leaves a fresh...strong....manly....aftershave-like trail that people will notice when I pass them by. all suggestions are welcome. Thank you all.

Don't know if I can get any of the two mentioned above here in Ghana. Most shops here sell the quite popular or well known brands. But thank you anyway.

Terre D'Hermes leaves a beautiful trail. I have followed guys in the supermarket for that very reason.

Azzaro pour homme or Rive Gauche.

+1 for each of these. TdH leaves a great scent but only the EdT and Parfum - not the aftershave.

The Dior in the aftershave form is very good for moisturising the skin after a shave. I used to use this a few years back. The scent is manly enough and very cologne-like.

Basenotes confessions, lol.

There's always good ol' Brut. Polo aftershave or several squirts of Green Irish Tweed maybe? I need to sniff some of these recs so far. I've sniffed Tdh, a classic smelling scent a bit. Really fresh. Worth seeking out a sample. It's pretty orange-y though...almost to the point where it takes away from that classic, 'manly-ness' of it, imo. It's still pretty masculine though. The orange isn't too sweet, it wants to be but it's not...it's tangy, fresh, a bit soapy. It's a pretty good balance.

Any vetiver based fragrance should do it. Try Creed-Original Vetiver or Dior Vetiver from Privee Collection.

Try out some Gillette Cool Wave aftershave...very very nice smelling stuff, and very long-lasting! It will get noticed.

My first reaction as i tried first time Davidoff Original from the 80's : this is like the classic aftershave type, very masculine fragrance. Surely leaves a trail.

Thanks, but i'm not looking for an aftershave....just looking for a cologne as manly as an aftershave (soapy, strong, crisp, sharp, boozey....etc) But thanks anyway, will try it someday.

Aqua Velva -- a reasonably strong application of it. But only if you actually want "aftershave." Alfred Sung Hei is an impressively improved rendition of AV - well priced, too. Both are definitely worth a try.

You should really check out

Histoires de Parfums - 1828

It's an edp but it has, altough beautiful, rough and very manly aspects like a real refined aftershave.

Certainly get a sample!
Rive Gauche is a classic barbershop feel. I also like Santos Cartier Concentree, it has a more manly sandalwood vibe.

Romeo Gigli Uomo
