Has Anybody Tried the Philosykos Eau de Parfum yet?

If you have, how does it compare to the original? And which do you prefer?

I just noticed Lucky Scent is carrying it and hadn't realized an EDP was available.

I sampled the EDP recently while on a trip in SF. It is, in my opinion, a much better version of Philosykos. It smells just as wonderful as the original edt version, but has much better longevity and projection (which is the reason I had yet to pull the trigger on the edt version). I sprayed some of this stuff on my arm at the Diptyque boutique and could still smell it 6-8 hours later. If you like the original, I highly recommend trying this stuff out.

Thanks scentfanatic

Absolutely wonderful EDP - fans of the EDT won't be disappointed. True to the original, yet longer-lasting. If anything, may have a touch more cedar in the base.

I've tried it and thought it was very nice. Still like the EDT though.

I tested this with my mom when she was visiting SF a month ago. I had bought the EDT for her as a gift, but she fell in love with the EDP after testing it. Longer lasting, and it is just smoother/richer overall.

Personally, I think the EDT might be better for summer, since it seems slightly greener and fresher. But if I had to buy one for myself, I'd pick up the EDP (in fact, with the EDP I think Philosykos has moved up to my #2 pick from Diptyque after 34 Saint Germaine). Certainly that's my mom's choice as well.

Bought this recently, and it is frigging awesome! It is, as others have noted, more heavy with the cedar/wood base, but still a great scent nonetheless. Get it, you won't regret it!

Awesome.

Thanks for all the replies, gentlemen.

Sounds like Diptyque did a nice job with this!

Sorry but I dont impress with EDP version.Figg smell is very light and still feel longevity issue even on EDP version.
Over price.

any new reviews on this stuff? I love the EdT but it's so fleeting....

The EDP to my nose is much greener and more complex than the EDT

if your only going after figs I recommend the EDT but you're looking for something a tad more complex I'd go for the EDP

As said above, it's more lasting and a bit more complex. It projects well and lasts quite a long time in hot weather which makes it a favourite of mine.

The woods are deeper but it still has that juicy fig opening. Obviously the longevity is better. I like it a tad bit more.

For those that have tried both:    Any new input on the EDT versus EDP?  I am looking for something that smells just like EDT but lasts longer, not a change of the fragrance itself.  I know sometimes this can happen with EDT/EDP change (E.g. Dior Homme and Intense).

I teetered back and forth with the EDT and EDP versions. I'm afraid I'll just sound like a broken record player but everyone above is right. The EDP smells a bit deeper and slightly more complex and it lasts 6+ hours on me. The EDT is simple and wonderful. Both are close enough that I'm not even mad that there is a slight difference.

In the end I bought the EDP only because it is a bit more complex but at the same time I'm thinking there is absolutely nothing wrong with something simple well done like the EDT. My next bottle is going to be an EDT.

It's gorgeous. Starts out very green and garden-y. The longevity absolutely sucks though. Tested this on one hand and volutes edp on the other, volutes was pumping out 8 hours later yet it took 2 applications of philosykos to keep up with half the strength

I tried the EDP the other day and didn't think it lasted much longer than the EDT unfortunately.

I just played around with the Diptyque line a little again tonight. I own Philosykos as EdT and love it, but I tried the EdP at the mall and it wasn't that different. According to the SA, the concentration is higher (obviously), but they also "moved some notes around in the pyramid." I'm not entirely sure how that would change things, unless she meant some of the notes were ramped up more? To my nose, everything was amplified in it, but there was also a slightly woodier base. Aside from that, not a hug difference.

Volutes, however, was very different. I've sniffed the EdT before and liked it, but never found it anything that special. The EdP struck me as a far richer scent in general, and so I grabbed a sample and we'll see how that goes! A new love for Volutes, it seems!
