I remember seeing Green Irish Tweed win the fragrance championship, do I thought I would throw some of the Basenotes favorites into a poll. I realize I did not include many fragrances, I just simply compiled a list of fragrances I hear a lot of praise for.

Also, pretend that each fragrance is the version you enjoy the most. For example, I listed Egoiste. If your favorite fragrance is Egoiste Concentree, pretend that's what the poll says.

Once again, just vote for your favorite fragrance on the list, it does not need to be your favorite ever.

Just realized that I forgot LIDGE. If that is your favorite on the list, reply below!

Dior Homme Intense

Dior Homme Intense baby!
Aventus. Some real good contenders though
post #6 of 64
Aventus and MI are the only one's I have experience with, and if I had to pick between them, I'd pick my comfort scent...Aventus.

I hear Jubilation XXV, TV, and GIT are great too though (I'm getting in TV and Jubilation samples sometime in the next few weeks).

I have no basis to vote but LIDGE would get my vote if it was up there because it is simply fantastic.

Once again, choose from the ones listed. This isn't necessarily your favorite ever.

I said I have no basis to vote as in I've never used any from the list before...

Out of these my favorite is Tobacco Vanille with Aventus and Jubilation XXV being up there.
That was easy: Dior Homme Intense

I'm almost considering selling off most of my collection because DH and DHI are all I seem to be wearing these days.

M by Puredistance.

Pure Malt

interesting! It's all over the board! only 31 votes so far...cannot wait to see how it plays out!
Aventus! then GIT
Not trying to be a scientist here but I think a "pick top 3" option or something would give us a better idea. I'm sure a lot of people could easily flip their 1 and 2 spot on a dime. In either case it's an interesting poll. I picked Green Irish Tweed.
EGOISTE! Followed by Fahrenheit and DHI, maybe.
From this list, DHI, the serious competitors being Egoiste, GIT and TDH.
I have not tried Aventus, Puredistance M, MI, TV and Jubilation.

Out of those listed (including forgotten LIDGE) I'd rank them:

1. LIDGE
2. DHI
3. L' Air du Desert Marocain
4. Fahrenheit
5. GIT
6. A*Men
7. Pure Malt
8. Terre d'Hermes
9. Egoiste
My top 3 from the list

1) Aventus
2) LIDGE
3) Egoiste
Top 3

1) LIDGE
2) Jubilation
3) LDDM
Went for TV - tried a few of them on the list and there's some great frags there but I'm feeling a bit wintery today so only one choice for me!
From this list it's Fahrenheit.
Weelllll, L'Air du desert marocain from your list.

Weelllll, L'Air du desert marocain from your list.
A tie between the followings...

Egoiste
L'Air du Desert Marocain
Puredistance M
Jubilation XXV

but in these kind of polls, if Aventus is included, it's gonna be the winner anyway.
My Top 3 from the listed scents in order of preference:

1) Terre d'Hermes
2) Puredistance M
3) Jubilation XXV
Subject to change, but I'm sort of in love with Tobacco Vanille right now.
That is a good list and quite a few I really like but I have to go with Millesime Imperial as I really love the stuff.
L'Air du Désert Marocain
Millesime Imperial - Wear this on a hot, humid day and you'll be in heaven.
Puredistance M by a mile. It's just my opinion.
Too hard to narrow down since I own and really dig 10 of 13 listed. Not that number of times worn is synonymous with favorite, but I've worn Aventus the most of the one's listed. I don't think it's my favorite but I sure seem to reach for it a lot.
Aventus followed by DHI which is also one of my favourites
post #37 of 64
You've got similar taste to me. Fahrenheit is still yet to be bettered imo.
DHI, Pure Malt and A*Men

I'm a gourmand lover.
I voted for Egoiste but should caution that I haven't smelled Puredistance M or Pure Malt.
Of those I've tried, of those listed, TV by a stretch.
I'd be happy wearing any of those except DHI which made me gag and Fahrenheit which would make me feel like a poor man.

Aventus gets my vote in the end
Tough to pick one...

Terre D'Hermes
Aventus
Pure Malt
Tobacco Vanille
Egoiste, then Creed MI and Pure Malt
aventus for me

Like a poor man? Lol. What?
Look at Aventus go, taking charge of the poll
post #47 of 64
Out of that list only Jubilation would be worth saving in a fire.
Interesting to note that out of the first 116 responses to the poll, only 3 are in double digits. Aventus and GIT seem obvious, but I'm surprised to see L'Air du Desert Marocain in 2nd place. Interesting! I need to sample that one! God, I wish there was somewhere locally (Portland) to sniff it.

EDIT: Just checked in with The Perfume House. Sounds like they should have it by Mid October. I can wait a few weeks

I personally really dislike Egoiste, but I'm surprised to see it not have more votes seeing as people worship it on here.

I can't understand why people enjoy smelling like fuel for a two-stroke engine. (Aventus)

I like Aventus, but it is nothing special. I'm thinking of selling my bottle and keeping my 50 mL decant.
Went with Pure Malt
Had a feeling Aventus would be the highest rated, I needa get a sample of this stuff..
Voted for Green Irish Tweed because it's my current favourite. Getting a bottle of Aventus tomorrow, though. I do like that, but lets see if it can dethrone GIT.
I'd have to go with Millesime Imperial. Sampling vs wearing is quite different. I have a brand new bottle and its long lasting, good sillage and amazing smell. Always a pleasure to wear
post #55 of 64
Jubilation XXV

Surprising how close this is ..... except of course for Aventus.

I think Puredistance M might have a poor showing because not many have smelled it, and A*Men because it's nasty ;-)

LOL! Ok, so I have to say that I'm actually glad I'm not the only one that picks up a "gasoline" or "fuel" smell from Aventus. For me, it's fairly light, however, and tends to fade away by drydown. Now, normally I can't stand frags with fuel, rubbery, tar, or oil smells to them (I'm looking at you Fahrenheit, Bulgari Black & A*Men). That being said, Aventus has actually turned out to be one of my favorites. As I said, the "fuel" smell is pretty light & doesn't last terribly long (really only get it in the mid notes), but overall I find it to be incredibly well blended and the stuff just lasts and lasts on me. Plus, my wife really likes it on me, and that never hurts.

Still though, my vote was for GIT....it's been my favorite "scent" for nearly 15 years. It's just... "me"

I hate it! I have a 60mL (z01 batch) decant of it. I'm really trying to unload this!
