I bought some Z-14 (with oakmoss!) and some new Vetiver by Guerlain. I am a stickler for the older stuff, but now that it has "regained its original bottle" I thought why not? and it is very good, albeit without the oily dark aspect of the vintage. I also bought Demeter's Leather. Good stuff, great to layer when you want an old favorite to have a leather vibe.

It is indeed. I do find the dry down to be a touch feminine for my particular taste, but wonderful nonetheless.

I'm expecting the mailman to drop off a bottle of Lalique Encre Noire tomorrow.

I bought this blind, but I also bought it because I need a vetiver-dominant scent in my collection. The reviews here of Encre Noire have been glowing, so I have high hopes for it. And I had a 20% off coupon from Fragrancenet, so I didn't pay a megaton of money for it (final cost: $33.30 for 1.7 oz).

Full review to follow after first full wearing.

I always look forward to reading someone's first impression on this scent. It's an intriguing fragrance that belies its price tag. Sadly though, it just did not work for me. Tried to love it but just couldn't.

Pure Leather arrived yesterday. Should've been patient & picked it up from Debenhams for the 1000 bonus beauty club points....!

Seriously considering ordering the 2/3 other bottles that are hovering in my mind, then placing myself on a BUYING BAN until the new year. I'm officially out of control!

Thought I'd treat myself seen as its my birthday on Monday, so it was a toss up between this and Tuscan Leather, though this was actually a blind buy.

Thanks, Ivory88. It's my SOTD, and I'm enjoying it! In the future, though, I need to go a bit lighter on the trigger. Potent juice.

Actually I enjoy all three scents. Spicebomb and MIP for evening wear, fierce for daily wear. All three serve a very good purpose. Good reviews. Thank you.

Hey ho Dailey! I think that while it is a relatively sweet scent, it is quite dark as well (because of the rum for me). I was contemplating getting either this or Spicebomb, but in the end went for both as they are different. Definitely different from the original Joop Homme but longevity so far has been excellent. While it is good for night use/going out, I would think that if applied correctly it would make a very good work scent as well. Heck, I am even bringing it back to Malaysia in a couple of weeks' time to be used in the heat there! Will see how that goes eh haha.

And no, I don't think it is similar to 1 Million

Hope that helps!
Nice one buddy. I'm going to Debenhams tomorrow, so I'll give it a try. I was going to get Spicebomb too, but it was a bit overpowering when I tested it. Great smell though.

Blind buy on this one. Heard equally great and terrible things which intrigued me enough to take a punt on it.

Finally caved in. I was at the store for a long time after trying the tester, sniffing through the lipstick opening (which was much better than I remembered it being) until I got to the "chocolate-covered iris" that some say was there, and I fell in love. Just goes to show that you should never judge a fragrance on the first sniff. I was also pleasantly surprised when I bought the box home - it was the original formulation!

Also:

For a mere $65 for the 2.5oz. Now I wonder if I should just open it up and keep it or leave it sealed and try to sell it somewhere. Tough choice. This is the rarest fragrance I own now.
