Hi there,

Does anyone happen to know how many reformulations there have been of this fragrance?

Also, how vintage would you say this bottle is? It certainly seems to have some differences from the current version.

Any help would be greatly appreciatted.

Looks 90s or early 00s.

I have read that the gold band on the cap indicates an earlier formulation. Later ones don't have that.

Thank you both!

It's definitely an older, pre-reformulated bottle

the vintage is in capitals.

the reformulations are lower case.

it works on other CK brands, like Eternity for Men, etc.

but some reformulations (I believe there have been several) are good as well. I tend to hit the Obsession for men vintage juice heavy, then throw some reformulated on top to get the missing top notes from the old bottle I have, it's a working solution...

I'm not so sure about this, at least I've never seen a bottle with lower-case lettering. Do you have a pic? Here's a pic of the current stuff with the same lettering as the vintage. The gold band on the cap is the only tried-and-true method I know of spotting the old stuff, but I'd really like to know how to spot an older one by looking at just the box.

A really good fragrance btw - one of CK's finest. I bought one for my then gf in the mid 90s. It looked exactly like the one in your pic.

I loved Obsession then, and I love it now. I have both old and new, for men and women. I carry a mini in my purse as a mood lifter. I tend to use it on my wrists in the Jeep driving home from work, well when I did that. Now I just spritz it anytime I need a lift. I have so many scents, but Obsession is on my list of must always haves. I almost forgot about it for years, then refound it a couple of years ago and bought up more vintage and got out my old stuff, and bought some new. Also found 2 bottles for men at a thrift store. I love them all.

That bottle looks mid 90's to me? But I am still just starting the research.

the men's vintage has the "for men" displayed on bottle and box in this manner: "FOR MEN" under the OBSESSION name. The words, COLOGNE SPRAY, is in capitals. Newer iterations have "for men" under the name.

the women's version, has "Perfume" instead of "eau de parfum" for the OG (original gangsta) juice.

Found an even older looking bottle. Does anyone have any info about this one?

I had a little mini of that. I think it was a gift with purchase or something that my mother received, and she didn't care for it so I took it off her hands. I think mine was parfum, but I see your label is eau de parfum. It was really, reeeeaally good...that one, if it is the one that I had back then.

Thanks lilybelle! What year would that have been (approx)?
