Urgent - panic attack

Dear Basenoters,

I just received a discovery set by Maitre Parfumeur (it is a 15 piece set for men). I was so excited, I thought today was the happiest day of my life.

I opened the box only to find out that one of the fragrances was spilled all over the box (I lost at least 10ml of Jeune Homme extravagant edition :-(
+
Route du Vetiver's screw was kinda loose and it also leaked a bit. Those damn screws! Maitre has bad stoppers and stupid bottles (sometimes their vaporisateurs are clogged.)

What would you do if you were me? Please help. I am very sad right now. I haven't cried in ten years, but I think I am about to burst into tears.

I am paranoid and anxious and now I think that the spilled frag got mixed up with the contents of other 14 bottles and ruined them. I know I am crazy, but that the way it is. I am just that paranoid.

What should I do (other than off my self by jumping off a bridge)?

IMMENSELY grateful,
m

I am sure the other 14 bottles are fine.
Separate the bottles, give them a wipe down, get a good nights sleep and enjoy the weekend :-)

It didn't screw the others up. Calm down, wash them off and be happy. Now you've tested Jeune Homme and it's obviously not for you, it induces panic attacks

If you think it's worth the effort, return to sender and claim a new set.

Thank you so much.

Actually, other 13 bottles are fine, at best. Route (my favorite) was also loosely screwed :-(

What if some molecules of the spilled fragrance got into other bottles? What if that exact chemical combination is toxic???

Thanks once again.

Agree

I also think the other bottles are fine and that you should wipe them off.

However, you may consider contacting the vendor and seeking either a prorated compensation for the lost mls (send them a photo to support the claim) or a replacement set.

As far as your worry that the combination being toxic if any molecules got in, I think you probably realize that is your anxiety speaking, not any real danger.

I took the picture right away and sent it along with my complaint.

I am returning it definitely. I will give this set away if I manage to get a new one.

The whole experience that was supposed to be SACRAL is RUINED!

Thank you guys for your support and your understanding

It's so disappointing to get a long-awaited perfume and have something be wrong with it!

I think the vendor will see it that way and make it right.

I feel a little less suicidal thanks to yous

If they refuse to send me a new set, I am disclosing the vendors name!

be positive...... there fine
You did the right thing: take a picture and let them know. It's always good to do that so they can make sure you are A) a happy customer (because no one is a return customer if they have a bad experience), and B) they can make sure it doesn't happen again.

Good luck!

return the set now!
I can only recommend returning asap! Good luck with it and hope at all turns out fine!

Return it without hesitation.

I know how you feel. I end up feeling like I did something wrong, like the company will think I am trying to rip them off. I know I shouldn't feel that way, but I always do. I bought a bottle of Mona di Orio Vetiver, and when I got home, the box said vetyver, and the bottle and juice were Ambre. I called the shoppe where I bought it, and they gladly replaced it, but it was a pain, and I wondered if they thought I was trying to pull some con...

This has happened to me before, it didn't change the scent. My bottles were tightly sealed though

I also always feel like a bad guy when I am to return something (which happened maybe three times in my entire life).
Stores make huge profits. Huge, huge profits. We shouldn't feel bad about ourselves.

That's it - I'm offing myself. Bye guys.

Bad Rufus!!!!!
Please relax mihailo. If you mixed all of those fragrances in a cup and dumped them on your head nothing bad would happen.
I was sure you were exaggerating, but if not I really dont want to make things worse. Literally nothing bad happened. Just a few ml of perfume was spilled. Please relax. Go for a walk. Breathe some fresh air.....be calm my friend.

I went to the youtube, typed in 'Rufus' and found a funny guy by the name of Rufus Hound, hence => Rufus must be the dog.

Spillage is sometimes a problem - Creed's 250ml flacons are repeat offenders...

Dude, relax!
If you are from Serbia I bet you've lived worst things.
Just contact the seller and see what happens...

Creed bottles leak? How can they not know how to make/seal a bottle!? I heard Nasomatto leaks too. Once I ended up with a leaking Piguet.

I thought about that too. Things must have vastly improved there in the last few years.

Creed flacons leak through the glass stopper, especially in the summertime. I think it sort of evaporates through the stopper. They really should wrap the plug with something air tight since the are all "hand finished".

Also this is like the 10th thread about MPG bottles leaking. Whats the deal with this company?

I used to adore Piguet's bottles. There're so elegant + the fragrance is less sensitive to the light. I think I am moving to a bottle-related topic.
Thank you guys, I love yous!

I used to buy a lot of of stuff on the internet. I got to the point where I couldn't take the stress of opening the package, so often did eager anticipation turn into disappointment and complete dysphoria. Meaning, I sometimes got damaged stuff, or the bottles were scuffed, or the box was dented, there was a leak, etc. I'll still take all of those risks when seeking out vintage and discontinued names. But if it's a name where I can walk into a store and just buy it, I'll do that and I'll pay retail. And you know what? I have a good time doing it.

For maximum long term enjoyment, delay whatever gratification might be left, recognize that you're not going to repair the feelings of disappointment and offense by keeping a box of broken shit, email them right away, send a picture of the situation, and tell them that they're getting it back. And then send it back. They'll send you a new one, but you'll have to wait for it.
