Please take a look at my wardrobe. Bear in bind that I am 44 but very young in spirit and I'm always told that I appear to look as if I am in my mid-30s. I work in a New York City Court House, very busy, lots of people. I am legal professional employed by a law enforcement agency.
Please help me buy my next birthday gift.

I think it's about time you join the club and purchased L'Instant Extreme.

Branch out a bit. How about LIDGE?
Wow, same suggestion, one minute apart. I bet Jack Hunter and Akahina were posting at the same time but Jack was a little faster on that submit button.

My suggestion would be the vintage Michael for Men by Michael Kors.

If you need something you can wear to work and not offend people around you, but in the same time not being bored to death, may I recommend Pehnaglions Opus 1870? Transparent, sophisticated, and very very pleasant. And if not, then there is always Rose 31...

Time for a Xerjoff: Fiero.

Oh I'm sorry about this but I do have L.I.D.G.E. and I do love it. Thank you all so much.

Happy birthday in advance!

Strictly within the realm of designer scents: your classiness - at least judging by your current wardrobe, seems to be perfectly accesorized by scents like Habit Rouge, Van Cleef&Arpels pour Homme, Rive Gauche pour Homme, Eau Sauvage parfum, TDH Parfum, even Caron pour un Homme.

OK. How about a Fredric Malle fragrance. Perhaps Musc Ravageur?
+1 for Frederic Malle. I suggest Musc Ravageur or French Lover / Bois d'Orage.

Guerlain- Derby
Looks like you are lacking in vetiver fragrances. Perhaps something like:

F.M. - Vetiver Extraordinaire
F.M. - Bois d'Orage
by Kilian - Cruel Intentions
Atelier - Vetiver Fatal

Happy Birthday!

Another vote for Opus 1870...it's great.

Since you are celebrating your birth day I think you should splurge on Amouage Jubilation XXV. Both are a celebration of being a powerful man.

Such wonderful recommendations. My BaseNotes family is so great. I thank you all so much. I think I will splurge this year and purchase something really special.

Windsor before it's gone forever.

Happy birthday sir!!

Timbuktu!

I'd go with something kinda elegant, but not too strong. How about something like Cereus no. 7? A good, versatile niche scent that's not overly pricey. Classy, but certainly not overpowering.
Cereus No.7 is like mixing GIT, Fahrenheit, and adding Tonka bean. Great fragrance! Also since fall is coming up Nasomatto Black Afgano is an incredible fragrance. Just looking at your wardrobe you'd probably enjoy either one.
Creed Bois du Portugal.

Happy Birthday!

EDIT: Oops. Just saw your wardrobe. Didn't realize you already have it.
I agree with silentrich on Nasomatto Black Afgano, splurge and get this one.

Birthdays are special..go all out..

My recs...perhaps a Chanel(I haven't smelled all of them but please not Bleu De Chanel! LOL) Or a Frederick Malle..not Musc Rav though..just isn't masculine enough..at least for my tastes.

Since it's fall..maybe Creed Spice and Wood? That's a nice one for fall and winter I think. The one ounce size is cheaper. Or there's Millesime Imperial.

Great recs in here already, I want to add (and am very suprised this hasnt been mentioned yet) INVASIO BARBARE!
Special and classy as it gets and definitely a splurge

Strong seconds on

Derby and Vetiver Extraordinaire as well!

Hi there!

+1 on Xerjoff Casamorati Fiero, and incredible, beautiful quality, classical masculine. Handsome and in control. For a man who knows what he is about!

And two clear headed and very attractive Vetivers;

Tom Ford Gray Vetiver
Histoire de Parfums 1828

Can't wait to see what you decided on!!
i think its time you add some roses in your life! portrait of a lady!!!!
Happy birthday! I will be celebrating 1 day before you . My recommendation: Tauer - L Air Du Desert Marocain or L Artisan - Fou d Absinth or maybe even Al Oudh
post #32 of 41
Sung Homme - perfect for law enforcement associated activity.
Cheers,
Renato

Happy XLIV senore01, any of the below 2 will do but I have a feeling you prefer french school and a bit of sweetness in your fumes so perhaps XXV is better option.

Vintage Bel Ami
I see you have some Creeds. I would maybe go with another such as Silver Mountain Water, Royal Oud, Santal Imperial, Original Santal, Original Vetiver, Tabrone Millisime, etc

I also see you do not have any Bond No 9. While I don't like Bond no 9 nearly as much as Creed, they have a bunch of fragrances and I like many of them. I would try Riverside, Wall Street, Brooklyn, New Haarlem, and maybe one of their Oud fragrances.
Then just get another bottle of LIDGE...lol, to me it's the only frag that's really worth it.

Good call on Fiero. For a mature, confident man it fits like a glove.

Any thoughts about going 'bespoke'?
Happy Birthday! Tiffany for Men is my vote.
Happy birthday!

Treat yourself to Vetiver Tonka Hermenessence. Gourmand for grown ups. Don't get me wrong, faboulous grown ups, obviously
post #41 of 41
I think the obvious answer would be Le Labo's Vanille 44
