The Forgotten Fall and Winter Favorite.

Thread Starter
It seems like with all the new hype of fall/winter niches and Muglers(which are well deserved), that one great fall and winter fragrance kind of seems to be forgotten. I am talking about the legendary Burberry's London.

I think people are forgetting about how absolutely beautiful and unique this fragrance really is. The knock on it has always been longevity and projection, but I had an interesting experience when I wore it tonight.

I arrived at my friends house about 1.5 hours after application. I did one spray to the chest under my shirt, one on the neck, one on the wrist and touched them together. 3 sprays for a fragrance that has a reputation of being "weak" is pretty liberal.

When he opened the door, we were standing about 5 feet away from each other. Right when he opened the door, he said "Dude, are you wearing Spicebomb?"

To be honest, even I was quite shocked that he picked it up from such a decent ways away when I was completely stationary. Needless to say, I was pretty excited

I told him that it was Burberry London, and him and his girlfriend came closer and starting sniffing me telling me how good it smelled.

Gentlemen, do not sleep on this legend! Yes it does not get the hype for fall like it used to, but I think it still deserves it. Tonight was the first time in a while that I wore it, and the wafts of beautiful cinnamon, port wine, and tree bark made me wonder why I've neglected this for such a long time.

If you haven't worn this in a while, give it a SOTD/E and remember what you've been missing!

i love burbery london

For what I am concerned, I would hardly overlook this during autumn and/or winter, since these seasons seem almost to have been created for the wearing of Burberry London.

I actually just bought a bottle a few weeks ago. I love it, but it's definitely a Thanksgiving/Christmas type scent for me.
I like it but can only wear it near Christmas as that is what it reminds me of.

I still have my bottle from years ago and enjoy it. I wore it a few days ago and it really is a Fall champ. I don't get the low longevity that some people report (the projection could be a bit better, though).

Another one to add to my list of frags to try. Always seems to get positive responses when discussed on here.

I actually don't think it's been forgotten, as I've seen it getting a lot of love & recommendations lately here on BN. It's definitely a nice fall/winter frag though. Unfortunately, I'm one of the unlucky ones that's get very little projection & poor longevity from it. Oh, how I wish this one had a bit more staying power on me....

It doesn't last for more than 1 hour.

This sums up my feelings perfectly. I think it is a great scent, but it has very limited versatility and *that* is why I almost never wear it despite its admittedly fine attributes. Not forgotten, but rather passed over for more versatile options.

It does smell similar to Spicebomb but, it's woodier and less sweet which I like. Overall, I think it smells better will always remain a staple in my wardrobe.

Pleasant whilst it lasts....

London gets a lot of love in November and December.

Last year, I didn't wear it for some reason (I think I was busy sampling a ton of stuff and wearing other things). But this year I plan on breaking it out once again. I sprayed some on yesterday to see if my opinion on it had changed, but it hadn't. London still smells great and the top is one of my favorites.

No doubt that its a great scent. Using it for a long long time. I also like the Special Edition of the same. I get a decent lasting on my skin.

It's one of my favorites. Definitely works great to invoke my nostalgia.

I'm not a huge fan of BB London, but would purchase a bottle if it were discounted. But I don't think it has been forgotten (almost every winter thread has it mentioned somewhere)

Burberry London lasts and projects on me more than satisfying. I find Brit also to be a great autumn frag, suits best in a foggy weather XD

London lacks character on me, but I love that Christmasty smell

London is one of best smelling fragrances that I had pleasure to smell. Perfectly balanced and unique.

Though I don't own Burberry London it is a great fall fragrance and does make me think of the holiday season.

I do own and love Boss Bottled, and I feel as though these two share many similarities to my nose anyway.

Definitely is not a forgotten fragrance. It gets mentioned all the time. I know because I always mention it :P

I sampled it once 2 years ago and didn't care for it. After reading this thread last night, I dug out my sample this morning and decided to wear it to work in the 50 degree NYC fall weather (and office with AC). Now that I have a more developed nose, I'm actually liking Burberry London. We'll see tonight when I get home if my gf likes it; and if she does I might buy a full bottle.

As for longevity -- I did 2 close sprays on both sides of my neck, and it's been 8 hours and I can still smell its sillage.

Wore Burberry London again to work today. Sitting here in my office at its dry down stage right now (6 hours after application) I can definitely smell hints of tobacco and vanilla notes.
