a (young) mans fruity fragrance

Thread Starter
I was looking at my collection earlier and realized, i don't have a fruity fragrance. Now, this could mean absolutely zero to someone else, but maybe I'm just showing my age (21). But now I'm on a hunt for a guys fragrance that is fruity.

What Im looking for - berries, apple, pineapple, etc. FRUIT! light or heavy. Young or old (leaning towards younger). Quality, doesn't mean expensive, just means its well done.

What I don't really want (but will still listen to any recommendations) - no citrus or aquatic. these are done over and over in the summer, and i already know ill be picking up one (chanel allure sport/extreme or dior sport) in the summertime.

I was looking into creed aventus, but if i could find something cheaper then i might not have to shell out $260 or however much it is. maybe diesel fuel for life? I'm really not sure. Im not knowledgable in the fruits!

thanks for any feedback as always guys and gals

For something warm, I'd go for Chanel Egoiste (the regular Egoiste, not the platinum egoiste.), candied fruits over a smooth sandalwood. It should go for about $80/100ml.

If you want to be a little more daring, on the fresher side you can also check Kenzo Flower. It's marketed to women, but, as perfume critic Luca Turin correctly pointed out, it is a copy of an old famous masculine called Royal bain de champagne. It's a canteloupe fougere.

Pretty Fruity by Montale

You want Fruity, look no further than Kerosene "Fields of Rubus"

You might want to check out paco rabbane's xs line. Real fruity!

Boss bottled - I get apple, apple, some vanilla & wood. Very pleasant!
Bond no 9 Riverside Drive - water fruit, pineapple...sweet & fruity throughout, with a nice mossy, musky base.
Aventus - wonderful apple & pineapple - you can get a 50ml split for under $70 here on BN
Diesel fuel for life may work for you. I do get quite a bit of fruit & sweetness & then a great dry wood dry down

My favourite apple is L'Anarchiste by Caron. So fresh!

seek out Byredo's Pulp

Boss No6/ Bottled - Apple
Black Marlin (if you can find it) - the apple equivalent to A*men
Black XS - something that smells like strawberries for a while.
Paris Hilton for Men - Grapefruit and Mango
Gap -The Original - strong plum and leather
Metal Jeans Versace - grapefruit

Joop Go and Mambo for men - smell fruity to me and others, though their pyramids don't indicate much by way of fruits.
Regards,
Renato

+1 Diesel Fuel for Life.
Boss Bottled does have an apple note, but it is not the most fruity scent out there.

Creed Millesime Imperial is structured around a very nice melon note. I also second cacio's recommendation for egosite, which is great for this time of year. I get an impression of abstract apple pie, even though there's no apple in it.
I think Azzaro Chrome Legend fits your description perfectly. Another suggestion Drifter - True Religion.
You need to get Aventus...you want apple and pineapple without citrus or aquatics, pretty much describes Aventus...you will end up getting it in the end anyway...check the splits board you can get 50mls for around 60-70.00...much better price for most niche scents and even many designer scents...

+1 on Millesime Imperial

All the overpriced niche aside.. I recommend IZOD, which is a fairly cheap fruity/aquatic.

But if you're feeling daring, check out Joop!

Get some Versace Eau Fraiche, or Cereus # 4, strong apple notes. I love them both.

24 Gold.

Two you've already had as suggestions:
Creed MI and Aventus.
Two fantastic fruity fragrances; MI being the summer scent and Aventus a lot more versatile. Both have tonnes of fruit - the former a melon bombshell; the latter apples, pineapple and flowers (juniper berries, jasmine, rose). You can't go wrong with either.

If you can afford it:

Millesime Imperial
Aventus

If not:

Love & Luck by Ed Hardy
Shock by Calvin Klein
Boss Bottled

Well 7 de Loewe has a great apple note and is inexpensive. It wasn't to my taste personally, but may be what you are looking for.

Creed MI, Egoiste (heavier), English Pear & Freesia by Jo Malone, Pomegranate Noir by Jo Malone.
As mentioned before, MI and Aventus are both very safe bets. You can get them in splits or original bottles off fnet or fx if you like to stare at the original bottle.

As a young guy I suggest you could try Paco Rabanne XS (Too fruity for me), Armani Diamonds (another sort of strawberry but a much better scent IMO) Boss Bottled (apple pie note in a Chanel Allure type scent and a good scent especially for young people, though I couldn't really say why) YSL Opium that is a heavy spicy oriental but has a clear blackcurrant note, is perhaps more of a mature person's scent but might be worth a look. There are thousands more, I just mentioned these as they are easily available without spending Aventus money on them (Some are to be found dirt cheap).

You should give that new Joop Homme Wild a go. I was only saying yesterday that it is very fruity.

Paco Rabanne Black XS.

Hermes Un Jardin Sur Le Nil
Polo Double Black

Not excessively fruity, stylishly casual and suitable for various age groups: Trussardi Jeans for Men.

I'll second that.

L'Anarchiste de Caron
Arabie de Serge Lutens
Aventus
Do you consider the fig to be a fruit?

If Yes, try: Hermes' Un Jardin en Mediterranee (sweet light fig) or L'artisan's Primier Figuier (figgy fig fig)

(I have not smelled the dipytique fig)

If No, then why not?

--edit--

Serge Lutens' Chergui, more of a plum/cherry/raisin vibe but nevertheless a very intriguing sweet/spicy smell

I have wanted to try this out for some time, but hard to come by!
I would say go for Aventus.
Both have been mentioned, but I would say:

Aventus
Paco Rabanne Black XS

or, maybe: Kenneth Cole Reaction

Love and Luck, Unforgivable. Great cheaper alternatives to MI.
I remember this one by Coty called Avatar, great smelling scent.
Versace Fraiche, Chrome Legend is also very good.

I was thinking either a pineapple/tropical fruit with some darker basenotes or a sweet red fruit (strawberries, red berries etc.) with a chocolate or vanilla backdrop. But well done of course. Can be classy or fun! Doesn't matter to me

I'd say Aventus for the dark pinapple and Pure Havane for the red fruit gourmand (some seem to get a cherry vibe from the opening, don't shoot me!).
Black XS is what OP is looking for

The opening especially is fruity - strawberry-praline-pineapple

THe dry down is really woody oriental
