Alternative to Creed Aventus?

Thread Starter
Looking for an alternative to Creed Aventus. It is an awesome smelling scent but was wondering if
there is another scent that is very similar to it.
There is nothing directly similar to Aventus. I along with a few others have noticed a smokey/leathery note in Michael Kors for Men that is reminiscent of Aventus. That being said, it's not an alterative to Aventus. Jaguar Vision has been thought to be an alternative, but it's not even close. It has a pineapple note and that's where the similarities end. Truth is, Aventus is pretty unique and nobody has copied it yet. If Aventus is too pricey, just get in on a split here. It's always being split and you can get a 50ml portion for around $60-$80. I have two 50ml decants of Aventus (X02 and Z01) and it's enough to last me a long time. If you really wanna go cheap, I know of an eBay seller that makes a clone of Aventus and it smells VERY VERY much like Aventus. It lasts a long time too. It's like $25 for a 4 oz bottle. Other than that, you won't find a good alternative.

That is the general consensus. Among the reasons Aventus is so popular include 1. an unique scent (nothing really comes close) 2. its a fresh fragrance (which more than other genres tend to "smell" similar) and 3. its all-inclusive (versatile, trained and untrained noses alike can enjoy it).

I would just go for the split.

I don't need anything closer to it than Zara's Gold. You really can't expect others to have the exact same opinions on this so you'd have to sample for yourself.

havent found none yet
There is no alternative. It's Aventus - the one and only.
personally haven't smelled anything close enough to it. I agree, getting in on a split for it is the way to go. Well worth it IMO to have the real thing

Zino by Davidoff has a similar vibe

Bvlgari Pour Homme Extreme's base is similar to Aventus but it lacks the pineapple.

Ananas Fizz by L'Artisan perhaps.
There may be a few, as listed above, that are similar, but if cost is an issue just get a split here. It's like $70 for 50mL's. That's what I did anyway.
Agree regarding a split. No substitute in my opinion.
I've tried Jaquar Vision, as well as Zara Gold. Both smell cheap compared to Aventus. Just buckle and buy it.

Yardley Citrus and Wood has an Aventus like opening and a TdH drydown. Michael Kors if you like the smokey leather aspect of Aventus. Zara Gold does resemble Black XS to my nose.

Black XS copy, more rather.

Rub yourself with some pineapple.

There, you have just saved yourself a lot of money.

Have you ever actually worn Aventus? I wear it often and I only get a little bit of pineapple in the opening, then the rest is mostly woody notes with some florals and a hint of apple (along with other stuff). Maybe that's how it reacts to your skin, but I wouldn't go advising people to rub some pineapple on their skin and miss out on trying it for themselves.

I think I can honestly say that yes, I have tried Aventus. It's one of the most over-priced, over-rated and over-hyped fragrances I have ever known.

Would have to agree. I don't get the pineapple reference.

It must be a batch thing. Since Creed can't make up their mind what its supposed to smell like, I guess everyone else has to play a game and work out what is actually Aventus. "Willl the real Creed Aventus please step forward?"
There is no substitute. Get a bottle of the real deal. Cut costs elsewhere.

Once again tell us something we haven't heard.

OH the irony Rich! The delicious sweet irony

Why settle for a fragrance that gives you an Aventus 'vibe.' Purchase Aventus via decants. That way you get it for much less than purchasing a bottle. Nothing comes close to being Aventus. Don't settle for less.

Good answer. Never would have come up with that in a million years.
Wear a pair of leather chaps near a campfire while eating a pineapple....Aventus has just been duplicated!
X02 and Z01 or bust!
there is no alternative, this is serious stuff for real!
today i tested zara gold and was shocked that i spend 120 EUR for 75 fot aventus and can get a good alternative at zara for about 19.90 EUR !!!!!!!! test it!!! my aventus is brand new , should i sell it??????

wow i dont expect something like this. i washed my hands a lot a take a shower and the zara smells already on my skin very good.
Disagree with the Zara gold comparisons, there are some similarities, but Zara gold smells synthetic and cheap to my nose compared to Aventus.

If you are fine sortof smelling like Aventus than I can see it being fine, but if you like the Aventus scent than the only option is to buckle down and get Aventus, as others have mentioned there are pretty regular splits conducted on this site for a 50ml.
Jo Malone Oud&Bergamot is pretty close.
I'm not saying Aventus is the best thing ever, but I own it and love it, and I agree completely with those who have said there isn't anything else like it.

Bleecker Street has a similar vibe, but it smells very different.

If you want a scent that can serve a similar purpose, there are quite a few. But if you want one that smells like it... well... I haven't smelled anything even remotely similar.

I'd LOVE to give that a smell! I wouldn't be surprised at all if somebody made an Aventus clone that smelled really good. The same? No. But really REALLY good? I wouldn't be surprised at all. I think this smell could be changed a lot and still turn out amazing.

People tend to only speak in extremes with Aventus... "It sucks"/"It is the BEST"
BOTH are extreme. It is nice, a bit too much wet cigarette ashes. Poor Longevity, decent projection. Too expensive but better than Dept. store scents.
Pineapple juice with a cigarette butt floating inside it.

A penny at a time.

It by no means smells the same, but Armani Attitude has a similar note/vibe, without the pineapple, and much dirtier. Maybe it's just me, but it always reminds me of it a little bit.
