What do you suggest I get my boyfriend for our anniversary? He likes Acqua Di Gio, BlackXS, PoloBlue

Hey guys

I was hoping some of y'all could help me.

My boyfriend and I will be celebrating 2 years, and it has become a tradition for me to get him a new cologne (along with other gifts) every special occasion. I am stuck this year!

He is a 23 year old male.

Some of the cologne he LOVES and wears frequently include:
Acqua Di Gio by Giorgio Armani
Black XS by Paco Rabanne
Polo Blue by Ralph Lauren
Joop! Go
Fuel For Life by Diesel

I purchased 1 Million by Paco Rabanne for him last Christmas, and he doesn't wear this often, so he probably doesn't like this as much as the others.

Other fragrances in his collection he doesn't wear often, meaning he doesn't like them as much are:
CK One
CK One Summer 2011 (although he does like this)
CK One Summer 2010
Calvin Klein Man
Ed Hardy Love and Luck for men
Diesel Only The Brave
Calvin Klein Crave
Tommy by Tommy Hilfiger (He hates this one.)

Women's fragrances he likes on me so much that he'll sometimes spray a little on is Ralph by Ralph Lauren, and Acqua Di Gioia.

I am thinking of purchasing Giorgio Armani Code, or Dulce and Gabbana Light Blue for men. If anyone has any suggestions at all, i'd love to hear them! Please help

It seems that he likes aquatics and fruity orientals.

Try:

Chanel Allure Homme Sport
Versace Man Eau Fraiche
Versace Pour Homme
Bulgari Aqua
Joop Jump

Welcome to Basenotes!

Is it supposed to be a surprise? If not, consider bringing him to Sephora (or any department store) and let him sample:

Bleu de Chanel by Chanel
L'Homme by Yves Saint Laurent
Boss Bottled by Hugo Boss

Those three should be easy to find.

+1 on Boss Bottled & Allure Homme Sport
You could also have him try: Chanel Allure Homme Sport eau Extreme, True Religion for Men, Chanel Platinum Egoiste,
or, if he wants to branch out a little & try something a bit sweeter/darker/sexier:
YSL L'Homme or L'nuit, Polo Double Black (I prefer it to Armani Code, which are both Masculine Orientals), Midnight in Paris
Good Luck!

It's supposed to be a surprise Thanks for all the suggestions, i'm going to the department store tomorrow to sample Boss Bottled and Allure Homme Sport.

I'm trying to stick with safe, I think

I'd suggest

Burberry London
YSL L'Homme
Chanel Allure Homme Sport

Safe scents he will probably like:
YSL - L'Homme
Channel Allure Homme
D&G The One [this is probably one that YOU will like too ]
Boss Bottled is fairly safe, I'm 20 and this is what I usually wear.
He may like pure malt, but you can't really sample this one and it isn't as safe a blind buy as the others.

I agree with the following recommendations:

YSL L'Homme
Boss Bottled
Bleu de Chanel
Chanel Allure Homme Sport

I would also toss Prada Amber Pour Homme in the mix as well, I have yet to find one person who doesn't enjoy this clean fragrance.

Then I'd say you're probably on the right track. Those are 2 pretty safe scents for the majority of people.

These ^^^^.

And, if you can find ↓↓↓:

Tous Man Sport by Tous - One is treated to a bright and zesty lemon opening, with cedrat tempering its wonderful sweetness. This invigorating opening is lovingly ensnarled by its heart, a spicy apple, creating a pleasantly refreshing and fruity concoction. As the citrus dissipates, the apple cider is subsumed by an awesome musky and woody base, with a glistening of green, and transforms itself into a much calmer and softer, woody drydown. This refreshing composition has average longevity and sillage.
