what is to much? what is going light on trigger? i know it depends on surrounding. classroom, club, restaurant, date, work, bar.

lets just say each fragrance projects good and has good sillage.. how much would you spray

3 Sprays - two on the neck and one on the chest
post #3 of 18
One spray on each side of the neck, just below your earlobe, and one spray on the back of your neck, just at the hairline, for sillage.

and you would do this in any surroundings??

I would agree. However, when I am wearing a particularly weak fragrance, ie. D&G's The One, I also spray once on each forearm. I find it lasts longer and gives me greater sillage. Hope this helps you.

It really depends on the scent. Most of my collection I use 3 sprays, but on relatively strong scents like PoaL, Giorgio for Men and Bogart pour Homme, one spray is plenty. The opposite holds true for some scents like Eau d'Orange Verte and Extract of West Indian Limes... Those I could empty a good deal of the bottle without really overdoing it.

Moderate fragrances: 2 to the chest and 1 to the neck. I'm always close to people, so two to the neck can become "dangerous".

When I wear a suit, I spray twice on the body and twice on the shirt (one per armpit). Without a suit I don't know, likely 2 or 3.

based on your assumption that it projects well and has good sillage, I'd say 2 medium length sprays - one to the upper chest/lower neck & one to the upper back/back of neck. If I want to get a little bit more out of it (being outdoors or in wider open spaces), I may give and extra 1/2 to full spray to a forearm (if wearing short sleeves) or back of the hand (if wearing long sleeves). I tend to play it fairly safe with my frags, however, as I really don't want to be the "cologne" guy.

When people say "spray on the chest" do they mean just a spray on the clothes ?

To me, it means under the shirt, or before I put my shirt on.

I've tried spraying a fragrance on and then wearing my shirt. But it is extremely hard to smell unless to you literally put your head down and lift your shirt a little to get a wif.

Generally "chest" sprays (all sprays for that matter) refer to skin.

I always spray on my skin first, then put my shirt on...that or spray on the skin from under the shirt. What you say is definitely true for lighter frags, which is why I generally prefer stronger frags and it's also why I try to spray my upper chest/lower neck, so some will 'waft' up under the shirt, and some is on my skin above the collar. Same for back of the neck/upper back. Generally works well, unless, again, it's a lighter scent...in which case I'll give an extra spray to the neck and maybe 1 or 2 to the arms or back of hand. 4-5 sprays for weaker (or more for REALLY weak ones) this way, or 2-3 for stronger has generally served me pretty well.

looks like tomorrow for school it will be rose 31 one chest two on side of neck for school!

I like to have my scent on my skin, not my clothing (unless its molecule 01 which is great on fabric!) I find that I always have my hands and neck exposed regardless of dress. (T-shirt and shorts to slack shirt & tie) ...
...So, Lately I have found that I spray the inside of each elbow with one spray each and I will spray the back of one hand rub the backs of my hands together then rub the back of my hands on either side my neck.
