If you could only wear one house... - Page 2

Izzie, what about you? Are you going to tell us your pick? Or are you just enjoying watching us all squirm?
Bond no.9

Montale Paris
My first instinct is Frederic Malle, but part is me is saying Dior now. Definitely something with a diverse line.
Well I used to say I would pick ysl, but now I am onto Trumpers, with there matching line of great quality shaving creams body washes etc I would smell great all the time, now if only they had a gourmand!

Dior
Chanel. No, Dior. No, Chanel. Or Dior. Impossible, - can't make up my mind.
Hi Guys,

Could you get by with fragrances from only one fragrance house? If yes, which would it be.

I have thought about it, but haven't found a house that has the fragrances to satisfy me all year round.
I wouldn't want to do that, but if I had to, I'd probably choose Guerlain.
Guerlain, easily.

Malle from the more recent houses.

Dior
If i was forced: Hermès.
Guerlain

Dior:

Dior Homme - formal
Dior Homme Intense - casual/dates/comfort scent
Dior Homme Sport - summer
Fahrenheit Absolute - work
Fahrenheit - daring

Histoires De Parfums.
Without question....Creed.
Only if I get forced: Creed
Chanel.
I've chosen to do this, with Bond No. 9
If forced Guerlain or Creed, maybe Serge Lutens.

exactly what I would say. But maybe swap in Dior Homme (cologne) for work. If not Dior, probably Malle for me
post #82 of 125
Creed.
I'd hate to have to do that...but if I didn't have a choice, YSL.
That would stink big time, but if forced it would probably be Mona di Orio.
Caron
Amouage
Creed.

CdG

Could never be satisfied with just one fragrance house.

What he says...but only IF I had to go with one. I wear about 25 of their fragrances. Nobody else even comes close. Sure I like some Guerlains, Puredistance M, etc.

Martin
would never want to, but if I absolutely had to, I'd probably go with Creed. There the only house with 3 fragrances in my top 10. Damn I would sure miss my Tobacco Vanille & LIDGE though...
Very close between Guerlain and Chanel - but Chanel would get it mainly because I love Chanel No.5 so much. Couldn't live without it.
House of Diamondflame.
If I were limited to one house only, it would be:
1. Dior, alternatively,
2. Yves Saint Laurent
Guerlain...with consideration to Vintage YSL and Caron.
Hugo Boss
Oh, I see, G. fessed up being the Chanel whore I have called him. :-)
I'm all (classic) Guerlain for the past months.

It would have to be Dunhill, so i can continue with my all-time favourite, Blend 30.
Another vote for Guerlain.
creed
Only one house then looking at my current collection I would have to go with the house I own most bottles from, which is Xerjoff
post #105 of 125
Chanel!
Would miss my Guerlains though...
Guerlain.
Creed may not be the most innovative, but their products sure are wearable.

I have a sample of Xerjoff Mamluk, I wasn't too impressed. I really like oud fragrances though. Which do you think is the best from Xerjoff?

Is there some kind of learning curve with Channel no. 5? I just can't get myself to like it. Please help.
This is easy. For their range of fragrances from affordable to very exclusive, and just the sheer variety, it would have to be:

To choose only one would be traumatic, however, in the spirit of the posted question, I would choose Guerlain to be my maison de fragrance.
Ericrico hit the nail on the head with this one.
Guerlain.
Vintage YSL.
Chanel or L'Artisan
I want to change my answer to Guerlain.

Good man! It's never too late to come to your senses.
What changed your mind, if you don't mind saying?
Creed for sure!! and a second veeeery close Amouage
post #115 of 125
Creed
Ooooh! Difficult choice. I could live with Santa Maria Novella. From the best Citrus Colognes....... through the florals...... to the wierd and wonderful tobacco/leather/incense fragrances.
Lutens or Malle.
Frederic Malle.
(First runner up, Chanel, then Amouage.)
Since my last response on this thread I've discovered Jicky EdP, which is my number one right now by some margin.

Having said that, I've also discovered Eau Sauvage Extreme and Eau Sauvage Parfum - the former is very good, and the latter is fantastic. So I'd hate to have lose Dior.

But Guerlain has it, if I have to choose one.
I have come to realize that I cannot pick just one without mentioning others that I adore.

Whose idea was this anyway? LOL. I believe variety is the spice of life, especially in olfactory pleasure.

I have to mention, or else I wouldn't be honest - Balenciaga. Their male fragrances literally stop me in my tracks when I smell them - I am mesmerized. A house that is so significant and dear to me.

A more fair thread that was on BN a while back - "Name your Top 5 houses". At least then, we don't feel like Tom Hanks stuck on an island talking to a ball named, "Wilson", losing our sanity. That is the relative effect of having to choose one house for us with a deep passion...

Cheers.
