The beautiful Fat Electrician

Just tried Fat Electrician by ELDO and Im blown away! Im a huge Vetiver fan, my favorites are Route du Vetiver, Encre Noir, Givenchy Vetiver, and Sycomore. However, FE has just taken the lead. I love the salty, dirty, smokey opening that slightly lingers throughout the whole life of the frag which evolves into the sharpest, smokiest, vetiver I have experienced so far. This is definitely the most unique and thought provoking vetiver I have ever tried. I have read reviews saying that this wouldnt be a formal scent and should be worn with jeans and a T shirt, but I think it would work with a suit or even a tux too. Projection and longevity are also well above average. I cant believe this doesnt get much attention on BN!

Tried it and thought it was OK but nothing special IMO. Glad you liked it though.

I had overlooked this as a potential VETIVER ALLSTAR.
I will seek a sample soon.
Anyone want to sell/swap a decant? PM me plz

This is a great composition and, as usually happens with most of the Eldo's fragrances, a much overlooked one...If they did a 100ml version, I'm pretty sure it would have got much more attention...at least around here...

Are they already out? They were supposed to be released later this month...do you have a picture to share?

I still don't see them on their on-line shop...

Sorry, don't have a picture right now, I'm on a longer business trip. I bought it used from fellow perfumista, it is definitely older than one year. Maybe because it's Europe?

Maybe because it's a tester. Testers have always come in 100ml bottles but the commercial fragrance was available, at least untill a few months back, only in 50ml. I've been to the Eldo's HQ in June and they only had 50ml bottles. The 100ml commercial bottle will be officially launched later this year and, as far as I know, they will look very different form the current 100ml testers...At this point I'm wondering why some e-bay sellers already have the new 100ml bottle...perrty confusing.

Edit:

Here's what I found on the Etat Libre D'Orange website...still pretty confusing.

Great smokey vetiver, for winter only imo. For summer malle's vetiver.

great post, thanks for bringing the passion. I can't believe I haven't tried this yet.

I'm afraid I'm on the opposite side. I really disliked it. Heaps of opoponax, not quite much vetyver, and an overall sort of... oily feeling, if I can put it this way. There's something annoying about Fat Electrician, can't really put my finger on it, but I'm tempted to say that I find it slighly repulsive

Really love this one on paper. After an hour on my skin, it becomes slightly annoying because the dirty opening never leaves. I still think it's a pretty good scent.

As many other frags of ELdO i've tried, I loved the concept, the ideas. Some of them I really liked as FE, Jasmin et Cigarette, Rien, Tom of Finland, Rossy de Palma, but they seem to me like if were still draws, needing some adjustment, complexity, refinement (this last word doesn't mean anything but improvement). After that, I must say FE is delightful from the opening to the base.

Totally in love with this fragrance. Such a delightful and strange take on vetiver. I really love it and use it all year around.
