Lapidus Black Extreme - it almost had me

I was finally able to obtain a tester of Lapidus Black Extreme - the bottle looks nice dressed in black and silver.

The fragrance notes are - Top-Orange, Black Pepper, Violet Leaf Middle - Orange Blossom, Cinnamon, Safron Bottom - Cistus Labdanum, Tonka Bean, Cedarwood.

Thought it is not listed I get a very stong Wintergreen note in this fragrance. The orange blossom and safron create a very sweet middle that follows all the way down to the base. That sweetness is very much like others on the market - Jaguar Excellence, 1 Million, etc. BUT what makes Black Extreme unique is that strong Wintergreen note that keeps pumping in the background which cuts the sweetness. I feel that Wintergreen note is like a node to the original Lapidus which is also sweet but herbal spicy.

I was really happy with this one for it is unique but *sigh* so short on sillage and longevity about after 2 hours it starts fading down really fast for an Extreme scent

Wow, a Lapidus with low Longevity and Sillage? This is a new one!

Thanks for the review!

This sounds interesting. I enjoy wintergreen notes, which are fairly unique in fragrances. So the combination of wintergreen and a sweet drydown sound intriguing to me. It does seem unusual that none of the typical ingredients normally associated with wintergreen (like birch and tuberose) are listed. I'll definitely have to sample this one though.
