Yep, Old Spice. Most people don't call it a "grandpa scent," they call it "Old-Skool"

Exactly. I see the same amount ( if not more) men over the age of 50 at perfume counters than younger men.

My grandpa still to this day wears old spice. I bought him Green Irish Tweed and he was pissed it wasn't in a splash bottle. So he sprays it in the palm of his hand an splashes it on.

Aramis and Quorum both smell distinctively like old man to me.

Old Spice may be the most classic old school fragrance, but because of the popularity of their body wash and deodorant lines, everyone is familiar with the Old Spice smell and plenty of high school kids even smell like it. It's not distinctively old man enough anymore thanks to good marketing.

On the other hand, most high school or college kids wouldn't be caught dead smelling like Aramis or Quorum. They aren't bad smells, but they smells very much like an older gentleman from another era, and they're both STRONG stuff that people will notice.

Slightly overapply Old Spice. Since you are in costume, you want to have the fragrance loud (to be part of the costume, not just a scent).

I think any fougere would work. For the grandfather of elegance, Fougere Royale or Sartorial.
