My music is generally upbeat - but I consider my favourites the slower ones which are just like, timeless.
These would be:

Only Skin - Joanna Newsom
You're The One - Kate Bush
In The Backseat - Arcade Fire

But that's for now

I could come up with so many 'three songs I love the most'. This is very spontaneously it:
Donny Hathaway - I love you more than you'll ever know
Bonnie Raitt - Feeling of falling (or so many more)
Jonny Lang - Cherry Red Wine (or again many more of the same album)

I love music just as much as I love fragrance...

So for this very moment, my three favourite pieces would be:
Clair de Lune--Debussy
Freedom at 21--Jack White
What I like About You--The Romantics

These will change tomorrow...(grins)

Sheglows.

No way I can narrow it to 3, just no way. I'd have trouble narrowing it to 50, lolz.

It's way too hard for me to choose only three in a definitive way, but here are three that come to mind immediately:

A Change of Seasons by Dream Theater
Sleeping in Traffic by Beardfish
Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence by Dream Theater

Army of Lovers - Crucified

Army of Lovers is a very camp, Swedish dance act founded in 1989.
Crucified is to date their most succesful single - released in 1991,
and it still kicks ass.

Sopor Aeternus - Powder

Sopor/Anna Varney is a German transsexual darkwave, neo-classical act.
She creates some truely magnificent pieces of music. Some very grand.
The lyrics are not for everybody. She is brutally honest. She suffers from
severe depressions, which shines through her songs.
If you can see through the grotesque facade, you'll find a poor tortured soul.

Chris Issak - Wicked Game

The sexiest song, the sexiest man, the sexiest video, the sexiest voice,
the sexiest guitar riffs ... damn it's sexy!

Jesus Duc, just when I think I've seen all the freaky weird music acts you pull out Sopor Aeternus - wowee!

Anyway, I like too many songs to count but here's a few:

Darlene Love - Christmas (because it's the only decent christmas song)
http://youtu.be/UV8x7H3DD8Y

Stevie Wonder - Superstition (oh so funky)
http://youtu.be/_vDRbPci5K4

FNM - Easy (a rare case of liking the remake better than the original)

and only allowed to post one vid - how annoying......

Wire Ex Lion Tamer.

Rest wasn't that great. Let's say Kinks Waterloo Sunset and Kraftwerk Model.
Lou Reed's "Sweet Jane" - especially the live version on "Rock'n'Roll Animal", though there are several other good versions.
The Door's "Light My Fire" - especially the live version on "Alive She Cried"
Neil Young's "Like a Hurricane" - studio and live versions are all good, and so was Roxy Music's version.

I could have put Hawkwind's "Brainstorm" in there, but I can never make out much of the lyrics in any version.

At the moment I just love playing Kesha's "Die Young" and "Warrior" - but I know they'll never become all time favourites.
Cheers,
Renato

She's quite amazing, ey?! She is one messed up individual, though.
And I feel kinda shamefull enjoying her misery. I just wanna hug her
and kiss her, telling her everything's gonna be alright!
Listen to this one, has to be one of the saddest songs ever written.
Knowing that every word is true. Anna-Varney is a true misanthrope.
She's been active since 1989, but has never held a concert, 'cause,
as she say: 'I don't perform for humans'.
Nor has she appeared in any tv-interviews - only written ones.
She is an enigma ... only letting us see her through her photo and
video art following each release!

Oh, and if you really gonna get into Anna's music,
I'd recommend you to try her newest releases first.

'The Triptychon of Ghosts' consisting of:

- A Strange Thing to Say
- Have You Seen This Ghost?
- Children of the Corn

They are all avaliable in full album lenght on YouTube
with great sound quality.

Her older stuff demands some acquainted taste,
and could scare you off.

Clams Casino - I'm God

Year of the Cat by Al Stewart; beautiful melody & lyrics, great guitar & sax solos, this song has everything.

Music by John Miles; expresses perfectly what it is to have a passion for music.

Who's Crying Now? by Journey. l could have chosen many of their songs, but this one epitomises their sound; Steve Perry's soaring vocals, the harmonies, & that guitar solo.
