Stuck in Boston for a conference. I wanted something warm and calming for the storm. Went with tobacco vanille.

I could make a humorous or indignant comment. But actually I can see how a scent could keep you calm in a stressful situation like that.

It's funny you mention it. When I got up this morning I knew I wanted to wear something comforting, so I went with New Haarlem by Bond No. 9. The syrup, coffee, and vanilla are keeping me nice and calm.

Work is cancelled, stuck at home.... time to test the samples. I decided to use Chergui by Serge Lutens.

Stuck at home too (though I only live three blocks from work). With heavy rain, I usually wear leathers or big things that cut through the humidity. I may revisit the vintage Cabochard edt, which uncharacteristically for leathers smells very faint to my nose.

cacio

Fragrance or not, good luck to all our East Coast US readers - stay safe and wrap-up well!

My choice would be Sycomore.

Yes, take care you guys. As Nate Silver puts it, "Err on the side of caution"

My Hurricane Katrina scent was Live Jazz. Grabbed it because (1) it was hot as hell during that September, and LJ is a nice warm weather scent; and (2) I figured I'd be on the go a lot, and all that bouncing and bustling might cause the bottle to break. LJ is so cheap it wouldn't bother me as much as if I had a bottle of GIT or MI with me.

For Sandy? Hmmm...if I was evacuating I'd pick a cheapie, but if staying put I'd pick a calming scent . . . maybe Chergui.

Only a basenoter would ask advice on the best fragrance to accompany a natural disaster.

I confess that I have thought out similar things for the natural disaster with whose possibility I am faced.
