Today I finished my bottle of................

Hi,

I don't know if a thread like this exists but maybe it's fun to write down here the fragrance bottle you just finished and if you're going to rebuy it or not!?

I will start by saying I finished today my 100ml bottle of Antonio Puig's Don Algodon 'Cool!' Who didn't grow up with it?!
A cheapie only for sale in Spain for €9.99 with the deodorant and with it's 1 hour longevity I used it as a kind of body spray for it's extreme freshness. I won't rebuy it but it was fun while it lasted.

I have a bottle of Platinum Egoiste by Chanel with a few drops left. I purchased it two and a half years ago. Maybe I need to just spray it so I can be done with it.

And no, I won't be buying this again for myself.

I like this...
Unfortunately for me, I doubt I'll ever be posting in here. I've had a bottle of Lacoste PH for 8 years...it's still 60% full.
Although my 40ml of L'Homme might be gone before the end of the 2013 year!

haha - no one in here will ever finish a bottle haha

Interesting thread, Slayerized! I had a bottle of Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male that I bought in Paris in 2000. The small amount left had turned. But, I kept that bottle as a memory for a while...and, about 6-7 months ago, I bought a new Authentic bottle to replace it. Although I like other scents in the similar realm even more, Kurkdjian created something unique and unmistakeable in the striped blue/aquamarine sailor's torso. I had to replace it.

That was the last "full-size" bottle I finished and replaced. Holding onto some other scents (stored properly) that still have enough in them to enjoy in the months & years ahead.

Cheers.

cK One. Used in the loo as an air freshener.

NO, that teenager will not be replaced.

Undoubtedly, Le Male is not what it was in the 90s. It is like M7, as masterpiece in my opinion. Why did YSL reformulate this fragrance?
Recently finished my bottle of String Strong Man, but have another backup so not worried.
Recently finished a bottle of Allure Homme Sport. That's the only one I have to date and that's because I had been wearing it a lot to the gym.
I don't think I'll see myself posting here either. None of my 18-ish bottles are in danger of running out any time soon. All are at least 80% full or more at this point.
I have only a few drops left of Eau du Coq and Eau de Cologne Imperiale - a liberal application would exhaust either. I've already ordered two more bottles of Eau du Coq, and one of Imperiale. I shall have probably finished these in turn by this time next year.

For each his own I guess...........I started this thread as I own like 100+ bottles which vary from 10-200ml and I just finished one and have a few more that do not have much left anymore............Anyway I guess even you can do another post here some day

Both lovely fragrances. Those Guerlain eaux seem to get used up in no time.

My wife is more of a bottle killer than I - in the last year, she's drained an Idylle 100ml, a Shalimar vintage EdC 90ml, and a Shalimar EdP 75ml.

I've finished a 30ml PdN New York and a 100ml Habit Rouge EdT. I have a 250ml bee of Imperiale that I decant into a 50ml atomizer that I've refilled once in the last 6 months or so. This stuff does go fast. I'll sometimes freshen up by misting all over with it and rubbing it in, though I suppose I should use a sponge or washcloth. A sponge bath with Imperiale would be better than a real bath, I think - it disinfects and leaves a nice base for your Guerlain of choice to lay on. I'll spray my brush down with it sometimes too.

It's been ages since I finished a bottle, but I'm at the end of samples of both of these:

Bond No. 9: Andy Warhol
Hanae Mori: HiM (not to be confused with H.M.) I'm near the end of a sample of both the EdT and EdP, with a preference for the EdT, oddly enough.

Definitely. My bottles are bound to be used up at some point. I get incredibly paranoid with some of my bottles and how much I've used up so I tend to spray conservatively. My Aventus, for example, drives me crazy each time I use it because I can see it slowly disappearing. At least with GIT and SMW I'm blissfully unaware lol.

Why? I am almost the opposite of this! Unless discontinued and not to get anymore juice is involved, I just use and spray how and whatever I want. When it's empty I will buy a new one or move on with my other bottles (depends). You only live once! Enjoy your scents to the full I'd say instead of getting conservative.......but again, to each his own.

Just finished my bottle of By Man by Dolce and Gabbana. I'm going to go cry now.

If you don't mind me asking, what did you not like about Platinum Egoiste to not purchase another bottle? Just asking bro.

You love those Keslings! Ultra hard to find. I've only tried Be Bop pH -- too much incense for my taste.
Oh man, I finished a 4 oz. bottle of Silver Mountain Water in an insanely fast time.... about 2 1/2 months. I wore it everyday and while the projection is fine on me, the longevity was what killed me. I reapplied this one many evenings after wearing it all day. I'm glad I did it.... it was worth it.... I will be getting another one.... maybe a huge flacon.... but not until next spring. I can't afford to wear this one year round.... but that's okay since IMO it's definitely a spring/summer scent. One of my favorites.

Today I finished my 4.2 oz. bottle of

and I will replace that jewel sometimes in the near future, it is too good not to have it in your wardrobe.

I also finished Trophee by Lancombe (1.7 oz), Paradise Homme by Alfred Sung (3.4 oz) and Pursue by Dunhill (3.4 oz) during the last couple of months and none of those will be replaced.

I have 5, 3.4oz and 2, 1.7oz bottles of By Man.... I will never run out haha!

I've finished a good amount of bottles because I usually stick to 3 at a time and get rid if the ones I know I'll never finish.
About 3 years ago I killed off 2 3.4oz of YSL L'Homme

I highly doubt that I will ever finish off any of my bottles now.
None. Only bottle that came close recently was SL Daim Blond, with about 5 ml left. Even then I've already secured a backup. I get anxious when a favorite scent is running low. That's when I stop wearing it at least until I buy a replacement. In a nutshell I'll never finish a bottle as the last 5 ml will be kept for reference.
I'm sure I'll be able to post here soon enough. I'm getting pretty low on a couple of my favorites, New Haarlem & Tobacco Vanille. While I would love to get backups before that happens, I'm quite short on extra funds atm, & it will likely take a good amount of time before I can replace them. I'm sure I'll weep quietly when this happens...

It has a sharp/metallic accord, and the scent is soapy... despite the hype of its lasting power, it has a short life span on my skin, which is good because I didn't enjoy the scent on me. However, I don't mind smelling it on others. I bought a small bottle for my father last June(?), and he finished it in September.

I'm much younger compared to the veterans on this site, and I have a relatively small collection (18 fragrances) but I can never imagine myself actually finishing a fragrance.

That's why I normally go for the smaller sizes (1.7 Oz or 2.5 Oz)

So, in 10 years or so all your 1.7 OZ bottles are all still filled with juice and none of them is empty yet?? Strange.........
ended up a 3.4oz bottle of French Lover by EDP Fred Malle - will not replace it
post #37 of 53

There was a similar Thread earlier this year, actually

I have managed to knock another Eau de Cologne du Coq and a Tiffany for Men 50ml on the head since this was taken. And my new Granville is almost done . . . it was long, hot summer.
Nearly done with my bottle of L'eau d'Issey, and will eventually replace it, but not for a while. I may get one of the summer flankers instead.

Yes, why not. Maybe it's interesting to mention if you will buy a full bottle of it or not when it's empty?!............

Haha I think it's because I really haven't found a signature scent yet, so all my rotating makes me think I'll never really finish a bottle. Although, my YSL L'homme is 30% used and it's a 60ml. That one is the closest to finishing I think.

I'd recommend trying to find the Summer 2009 edition, very hard to find these days. But in my opinion it is much better than the original and the best one of them all, I was quick to grab myself a few bottles. Although, if you really want it, I'd be happy to send it your way.

You must constantly smell amazing. This picture makes me desperate to give the Cartier and Granville a second chance - I wasn't a huge fan of Granville on first sniff but something about it keeps making me want a bottle... will try again on my next visit to the boutique.
Granville is not for everyone, it is a deft mix of old school and modern, but the oakmoss (such as it is, the 'legal minimum I suppose) adds a sense of depth underneath the garriguey pine that's unusual in contemporary stuff. I've heard it described as 'stale' by some, which is probably due to only being acquainted with very recent synthetic 'men's stuff' - Granville has a complexity and maturity to it that's rare these days. I suppose if the proposed zero tolerance for oakmoss legislation goes thru they'll kill this one as well . . .

That will be a sad day indeed. Both superb fragrances in my opinion.

As for myself, I finished a 5 mL sample of Aventus a week or so ago (that I refilled with a 2mL sample a few weeks earlier). I ended up buying 50mL via a split.

Today, I finally finished Platinum Egoiste by Chanel. I used the remaining few drops as air freshener in my room.
i have over 200 bottles and the only one i have finished recently was passenger by s.t. dupont. horrible blind buy by myself. my 75 ml sean john has about 20 ml left but i also have another bottle of that. it's all about backup bottles baby!!!
Well I finished a bottle of Boss Orange before it finished me! I got it as a present but didn't like it at all! So although it was 90% full I expelled it from my galaxy!!!
In the last month I've finished and replaced all of the following 100ml bottles:

Z Zegna Extreme (could only find a 50ml replacement for this )
Essenza de Zegna Summer
Kouros Cologne Sport
Rive Gauche Pour Homme (I already had 2 large 125ml back up bottles but couldn't help myself getting another )

The following are almost used up (in the next month or so) and I'm currently sourcing replacements:

Allure Homme Sport
Kouros Tattoo

Although I have 250plus large bottles in my collection, I seem to always be running out of something!

One of my bottles of Extract of West Indian Limes by Trumper

being an happy trigger I'll soon finish Red for men and Polo Black (thanx God!)

Although I like it a lot, I will not replace it, smells too similar to others in my wardrobe

The last one I killed was Un Jardin Sur Le Nil, but that was before I was sucked into this never ending and temporarily satisfied fragrance hobby. I am dangerously close to dusting my only bottle of Wallstreet (hang in there Gekko).
