Bought within seconds of first smelling it

Do you have a scent that you are so sold on it that you bought within seconds of first smelling it?

I just did Cartier Roadster. It could be because I was having a cough and the mint appeals to me immediately. Inhaling it soothes my throat.

Kilian Pure OuD...amazing.
Do it all the time - many times even without smelling it.

The most recent one was Voyage d'Hermes Parfum. As soon as I sprayed it on my skin, I bought it.

The relatively low longevity/sillage has had no effect on how much I enjoy this fragrance. Beautiful stuff.

i did it for DHI. still.loving it

If I had the money I would've bought Amouage Epic Man instantly.

Nope, I give a full wearing before purchasing; top notes can be deceiving.

Same here, specially the second one.

Didn't purchase, but knew that I'd buy it sooner or later- that first sniff was enough. Has happened to me with
Kouros
Polo
Azzaro
Fahrenheit
Encre Noire
Fahrenheit Absolute
Dior Homme Intense.

Wish I could say I bought Dior Homme on first smell, but it took me three tries before I bought the bottle. That Iris was just hard to agree with at first.

Oddly enough, Angel Men. There was something about the harsh tar note that was appealing. Bought it right away after I smelled it off the tester.
It's gotta be Dior Homme Intense of course!
The only fragrance I immediately bought was Narciso Rodriguez for Him...it is still one of my all time favorites! and I've complete line of the same including ASL/ASB/Deo/Shower Gel

I rarely do this, but last month I did it at the Barney's in Vegas, with Anima Dulcis by Arquiste. Instant love!
I thought that was the purely natural human response. Then i came across Basenotes.

Canali Black Diamond... The one time I don't test for Longevity and Projection it bites me!

Amazing scent though, and very happy I own it (3rd bottle!)

Never. I need to do at least 1 full wearing before buying a bottle. I can't tell how a frag will perform until I see it through it to the end.

Buying a frag after 1 sniff is like seeing the opening credits of a movie and saying it's your favorite movie of the year so far.
This happened for me with Bleu de Chanel and it was my first fragrance after a couple of Hugo Boss bottles i had purchased many years ago. Bleu gave a nice start fot my frag hobby and I still reach for bleu every once in a while!

CDG Green Play...I had been wearing a few other frags on my arms to test them out, came back to Barney's and they had just received the 3 new CDG Plays since that morning. I tried Green Play, and got that instead of the one's I had been testing...haven't regretted it for a second, love the stuff.

Buying a frag after 1 sniff is like seeing the opening credits of a movie and saying it's your favorite movie of the year so far.

I've seen some epic opening credits. I'm confident judging a movie as great based off of an amazing opening sequence.

mine is Un Jardin Sur le Nil
got a sample and as soon as it smelled it i ordered it. Then it wen into the dry down and I went crazy. I get outstanding longevity and its becoming my all time favorite. This scent single handedly made me love all Hermes fragrances.....Ellena is a beast!!!

Actually buying after 1 sniff is like seeing the opening credits of a movie and saying - yes I will pay to see the whole thing. Buying a fragrance doesn't mean it is your favorite, just that you are willing to invest the money to add it to your collection.

I have made MANY blind purchases, and have purchased MANY after just a few sniffs.

Just a few that I was instantly sold on:
Annick Goutal Les Nuits d'Hadrien
Heeley Agarwoud
Chanel Allure Homme Edition Blanche
by Kilian Back to Black
by Kilian Straight to Heaven
by Kilian Incense Oud
Bond No. 9 New York Amber
Ormonde Man
Heeley Sel Marin
Versace Man Eau Fraiche

This really works for me. I've bought a few upon first smell, and it's usually been a blunder. As dollars&scents said, it's way too easy to be tricked by top notes.
Never done this. I like to take them out a few times, get to know them before I make a commitment.

I often find that I may like something on the first 2 or 3 wearings, but by the 10th i've had enough.
I did it with 3 fragrances...and now I have 3 99% full bottles. Sample a few times. If you find yourself driving down to sephora/macy's JUST to try the same fragrance...you probably would like a full bottle of it.

It nearly happen again 2 days ago at Sephora with the new formulation of Dior Homme Sport.

I really really wanted to buy it and it took a lot of pacing up and down Sephora, reasoning with myself, opening the wallet, closing it back, reminding myself of the cc bill from last month's impulse buys, finally fought myself out of Sephora, but still pacing up and down outside it, to finally rid myself of from the demonic lure of that angelic classy scent.

I am going to buy it next month.

Habit Rouge L'Eau and a very Lutanesque local cheapy.
I've done this before, but not necessarily "within seconds"... I came back the following day, or I purchased online.

Here's some that I can remember:

Egoiste by Chanel (pre-Basenotes, online purchase)

Azzaro Chrome by Azzaro (pre-Basenotes, same day purchase)

Vintage M7 by YSL (next day purchase)

Pure Havane by Thierry Mugler (ordered a sample, then I purchased online a couple of weeks later due to re-release)

Givenchy Play Intense by Givenchy (next day purchase)

Vintage Michael Kors for Men by Michael Kors (next day purchase)
Several. Funny you should mention Cartier Roadster as I did same when I bought it.

Kilian Taste of Heaven was another.

Parfumes Regence Kölnisch Juchten.

For myself, hardly ever. But as presents for others, countlessly often, since I seem to be more comfortable and more objectively detached with estimating, appraising someone else's fragrance tastes.
