Trying to replicate Eternity (the ORIGINAL Eternity, that is)...

Thread Starter
Hi all,
Anyone who loved the original (1980s) Eternity will probably know how different it was to the more recent formulations going unter this name. I've been trying to replicate the original pefume, using essential oils, but without getting even close. Can anyone suggest a recipe?

Many thanks...

I think that would be difficult to do even for an experienced professional perfumer.

I know you want to make your own, but there is a half bottle on eBay here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-CALV...item2573f5d76f

There are a few minis of the original on eBay too.

You probably wont get close with EOs as the original probably did not use them alone. As already stated even professionals may not be up to that task. You could probably make your own scent In the style of... but you'll also need to get aromachemicals which is what commercial perfumes are made from or use for various effects. If thats the perfume you want them you miht have to hunt down vintage bottles as above.

Eternity was never an all natural fragrance, therefore it is impossible to duplicate it using Essential Oils alone. One of the key ingredients of Eternity are the Damascones, which (surprise surprise) are now restricted by IFRA. Seems likely that the original Eternity contained more Damascones than is now allowed.
