Iris + Incense fragrances

Iris and incense are one of my favorite combinations. I find Prada's No. 1 Iris, and even Infusion d'Iris to a lesser extent, quite nice, but I'm curious about what others might recommend as a strong example of this combination. Any suggestions?

I also just ordered a sample of Cloon Keen Atelier's Terre de L'Encens, for which I have high hopes...

Cuir d'Iris by Parfumerie Generale

Andy Warhol Silver Factory by Bond no.9

It definitely has the incense and it has some old lady smell which I am thinking has to be iris...Basenotes lists iris as a note but fragrantica doesn't. I am sure it is iris tho!

I was going to suggest the Prada, but it looks like you already enjoy that. Have you smelled the newest flanker, Infusion d'Iris Absolue? It's wonderful, I think you'll enjoy it.

Also try Dzonghka by L'Artisan Parfumeur.

Thanks, I'd forgotten all about Silver Factory! I remember loving it when I tried it years ago; time to revisit this one obviously

Iris Silver Mist by Serge Lutens. Prepare to be blown away.

I love Silver Factory but I smell NO iris in it when I wear it, regardless of what the pyramid/notes are. It is a incense fragrance, through and through.

I agree it is definitely prominent incense based fragrance, yet somewhere in the undertones I can smell a iris note. I am almost positive it is iris because iris to my nose, does have a distinct smell more so than most flower notes.

Definitely a good fragrance, and I am not to fond of incense based fragrances, yet this one is very manageable.

VC&A Bois D'iris

I have a sample of Terre de l'encens by Cloon Keen Atelier. Pleasant, dry and mildly carrotty, with a subtle incense note. A bit too timid for my taste really.

What did you think of terre de l'encens? It is one of my favourite fragrances. Not 100% perfect, but the best iris incence I have found.

Opus V, Dzongkha and Iris Silver Mist are the ones I like.

I am just getting to know Cloon Keen Terre de L'Encens and I am really enjoying it. I'm looking forward to hearing what kb2003 has to say about it. What I would say though is that for me it smells more pepper dominant than incense. To me, Terre de L'Encens is Iris...pepper....wood.....soft incense. Nice and dry. Easy. Androgynous. It is more Terre than L'Encens. It would be a nice alternative to VC&A Bois D'Iris, a bit drier and less sweet.

Oh, and + however many for Dzongkha.

Edit: Oops, it is Cloon Keen not Keen Cloon, sorry! Anyway, try it, it's great!
