I've always preferred gold to silver, but I'm seeing more men wear silver (rings, watches, necklaces) recently. Thoughts?

For the record: I realize that I did not include titanium. I know that titanium is trendy right now...but it's not something I can wear, so I left it out.

It's not what you wear. It's how you wear it.

I decided for either one. Yet, considering strictly versatility, not the factor of looking better, I usually prefer to wear, at least what wristwatches are concerned, silver, stainless steel, white gold or titanium. Simply because they are easier to accessorize with both casual and formal wear.

Silver, stainless steel, white gold, are more versatile and easier to accessorize. For example, a wrist watch with a stainless steel band can be worn with just about any outfit or shoes whereas a gold colored band is more restrictive.

Depends on style, skin tone, etc.

Personally I don't wear anything anymore but it was silver when I did.

A big 'Yes' to this.

I tend to wear silver more but I do wear white gold and I think its looks better then yellow gold imo.

It depends on the man and the clothing. Some men can wear a bracelet, too.

What about platinum?

It is a matter of taste.

I'd say gold looks classier on more mature men.

Silver - stainless steel - white gold, but it depends - sometimes gold can look very classy

To each their own....for me if you are speaking about a watch...a black leather band is my preferred way to go. An all black watch is my other choice. Don't wear bracelets or rings....I do wear something around my neck and it is gold.

I've always preferred white metals to gold. Gold has just always seemed sort of tacky to me.

Well said, I completely agree. You can not buy class nor confidence.

I would be curious to see the ages of the voters. I have a feeling the younger guys went for silver whilst the older guys went for gold.

27 year old male from USA, I prefer gold.

I agree with it depends on your skin color and I have fair/medium skintone and prefer to wear silver. However, I try to not wear necklaces and bracelets because I have a tendency to turn and turn them obsessively. It's a shame because I love jewelry!

I prefer silver, it seems classier looking for some reason. It is also easier to match with clothing, belts, etc.

Silver. I like to be accentuated.

Gold makes too loud of a statement.
