ebay. Today I received a fake Bleu de Chanel. I wanted it as a back up bottle. Reputable seller, only 1 negative posting which was put there after I had already made my purchase. The bottle has no magnetic cap. My original Bleu, which I purchased from Chanel, had a magnetic cap. Gosh....I feel sooooooooooooo taken. First time in over 10 years. Boo Hoo.

Hopefully you can return it and get a refund.

Sorry to hear you got a fake and it's the curse of ebay that there is always that chance you are going to get burned. I hope you can return it or at least get your money back.

+1, see if eBay's Buyer Protection Policy has any teeth, be sure to highlight the absence of the magnetic cap, inter alia.

Good luck!

That bites! I know you can and will get your refund. Makes you not trust eBay anymore though, huh? Good Luck!

First ask the seller for a refund. If they are anything less than TOTALLY HELPFUL, than you can file a "item not as described" complaint which GUARANTEES eBay will refund your money. Furthermore, eBay now holds the sellers money for about 2 weeks before releasing funds to the seller. SO, it's entirely possible that eBay will refund your money.

I always like to give the seller benefit of the doubt. AS A SELLER, I really appreciate the chance to fix problems before the seller files a complaint. I BEND OVER BACKWARDS for my buyers. I would hope others do the same.

You will likely have to return the item (which is unfortunate as it will likely be resold to another unassuming buyer) But if you take action ASAP, you will et your $$ back.

GOOD LUCK! (AND SORRY)

I consulted my magic 8 ball, you'll get you're money back if you report it.

Always pay retail. Luxury products are a luxury because they cost a lot. You get the real thing and you get to have the experience of buying it and having a fine retail experience. If you can't/won't pay to ensure that you are buying the real thing, find something else that fits your price range. Bleu is a pretty downmarket frag anyway, even though it is from Chanel. Nice smelling, I grant you, but hardly worth buying on eBay when you can get is at the Macy's at any mall anywhere?

First time for everything. I must say your track record looks pretty good, though.

I reported it and I will be getting my money back. I noticed that someone else recently reported the same seller for have sold a fake Bleu. Caveat Emptor.

I'm curious about the rest of the quality. Bottle and scent in particular. I'm actually rather surprised that they didn't finish the job and use a magnetic top.

The bottle actually looks pretty good. Very close to the real thing. The scent is horrid. Nothing at all like the original Blue. The magnetic cap was the first indicator, the scent itself was the confirmation that it was a fake.

Great News: Ebay Dispute Resolution resolved every thing and I was reimbursed today. So I guess it's fair to say that ebay is rather safe and looks out for its members.
