Bulgari Aqua vs Bulgari Aqua Marine (FOR SUMMER)

Thread Starter
Okay, I've been contemplating wether which one is particular best for summer. I know this thread has been done before, but I need to know a more thorough explanation why which one is better. I was leaning toward Bulgari Aqua since that's what the community, it seems, thinks its better because of its uniqueness. BUT I've been looking at youtube reviews on "Summer Top 10 Fragrances" and most of them never consist of Bulgari Aqua, but more often than not Buglari Aqua Marine is in the list in most of the videos. I live in California so it's very hot most of the time over here. I need to know which one is better. I'm not not a collector of colognes, but I do have various colognes from A*Men to Cool Water, but I only have those colognes for the compliment factor. I don't care what smells good to me, I just care what smells good to the general public and what gets the most compliment factors. So which one do you guys prefer in terms of which one is more appealing to the general public?

To me, Aqua Marine is more refreshing. It manages to be light while still getting pretty impressive longevity from an aquatic. Aqua is a more robust scent, which for me is actually a detriment in the genre we're talking about.

The one I own is Marine.

Of the two - Aqua Marine if I had to choose, but in reality not a fan of either.

This! (see also my review on Aqva Marine)
Aqva Marine lasts longer and is less salty, but it's a matter of taste. I agree that Marine is way fresher but Aqva is more original in smell. For me Aqva Marine is one of the best aquatics on the market tbh.

I owned a 50 ml bottle of Bvlgari Aqua Marine a couple of years ago and I really enjoyed wearing it during the summer. I think it was my everyday scent during those hot months. It's very refreshing, light yet noticeable in a good way.

They are both commonly available, so I'd test them first. To me, the seaweed note makes Aqua Marine smell like fish and brings back memories of seaweed rotting on the beach.

There is no best, just personal preference. No use getting what most people on Basenotes prefer if you don't enjoy the smell.

I have samples of both and Marine does it for me more over.

I have samples of these:

Bvlgari Aqua wins on smell.
Bvlgari Aqua Marine wins on projection and longevity.

If all you care about is what smells good to the general public and not to you (why?!?)... Then probably you are best off with neither of them, and just pick up some Cool Water or Acqua di Gio.

Aqua Marine is more shallow, has less depth that is, also somewhat synthetic to my nose. Aqua is much more better.

aqva is mysterious and deep while marine is youthful and energetic. both are good but aqva is my favorite aquatic.

Both are good for the summer. Aquamarine would probably be more in line with what people traditionally associate with summer though. Though, Aqua is a more original better made fragrance, even if I don't really care for it.

I prefer marine over the original. Lasts longer and projects better.
