D&G THE ONE.... Did they make a mistake?

So I was browsing the fragrance isle at my local TJ maxx today and came across a 1.6 oz bottle of Dolce and Gabanna The One. It was in a sealed box with the sticker on the top. When I looked at the price I said no way....it was 9.99. I looked twice for surely it must have been a bath bar or lotion but right on the box said Eau de toilette. I never had sampled this before but I remember seeing this and it's counterparts at sephora for $60 so I thought what the heck the real test would be when I got to the counter. Walked right up to the cashier and he rang it up and sure enough 9.99. I really like the fragrance. Wish it was stronger but hey I paid 9.99 for it so I don't mind overspraying. What do you think? Did the associates make a mistake by the price of the tag or did I really score a good deal?

And here I thought you meant its release....;-). On a more serious note, while I would not buy it at any price, if you like it then that is indeed a good price. Enjoy!

I agree, If you enjoy it then you got a really good deal!
you definitely got a good deal!
Wow. And you only purchased one bottle?
Yep, $10 is a hell of a deal, mate. Good score!

I'm in the same boat as you - wish it lasted/projected longer but I enjoy it while it does.

You got it really for a good price, but yeah it's weak, too weak, and other things do the job better in the game genre without having to overspray

Great fragrance for an even greater deal!!

Nice find!

I always felt like The One just missed the mark in terms of being a really good fragrance.

Envious! I really like The One but haven't purchased it because of poor longevity... though I'll admit I haven't given it a full wearing to really confirm that. But at the price you got? Oh, heck yeah.

Enjoy!

I will be going to TJ Maxx tomorrow...

You lucky one! This made people who paid ten times goes wth?!

I love when they miss tag things! I agree that The One lacks a lot, my main problem with it is projection. I love the dry down of The One, but I have to get real close to my arm to smell it. When I'm at TJ Maxx I always make sure I head over to the women's frag section (I still hate how they separated men's and women's) since in all of the 10 or so TJ's I've been in in the last 3 months they always things in the wrong section. My best wrong price item so far has been Baldessarini by Hugo Boss. There were 4 bottles all at $49.99 I searched a bit more and found one for $39.99 I was thrilled.. Ah the little things in life

I actually quite like The One, the only problem I have ever had with it has been, like others, it's longevity. In my opinion yiu scored a great deal and I'll be looking at my local TJ very soon to see if I can score a cheap replacement/backup bottle.

+1. There is a TJ Maxx about 2 miles from my house - don't think I have ever been in there. Now I have a reason...

Great deal. I agree with most of the post in this thread: nice scent, but it also lacks power in terms of longevity.
Other than the main issue of this fragrance which is the longevity, the actual scent is amazing. You caught a hell of a deal on this one. Even in discounters I usually see a 1.7oz of The One for 39.99.

I agree, it's weak, however the flanker is stronger, at least on my skin.

Hec of a deal bro! Should have got two or three. Enjoy!

You really can't go wrong at 9.99....While The One isn't great, it's interesting basil and tobacco facets make it interesting enough to put up with its being skeletal and rough around the edges.

Anybody else get a tropical vibe off The One?

I always thought it was best for summer nights.

I do, as it has that musky and sweet pineapple opening. Then, it develops into a nice ambery scent. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones, because it lasts 8+ hours on my skin (by doing close sprays).

Lucky! I've always like D&G The One. I just never justified the price tag because of the poor longevity. Great deal!
