I am trying to decide between 1697 absolu limited edition and 1697. I have sampled the absolu. From what I have read the absolu is more of a skin scent with less sillage. the absolu is 50 ml vs 100 ml. The absolu is denser, less breathing of notes. My question is do they smell the same?

I just discovered Frapin by seeing the new Speakeasy on Luckyscent.

Are they worth it?

Like any other parfumier, much will depend upon your individual taste. But I don't want to get sidetracked - any more input on the 1697 brothers would be appreciated.

Ive used both the absolu and the original 1697. No they dont smell exactly the same. The absolu to me is much heavier. They are both "heavy" but I believe the original would be a good starting place.

The difference to me(Im a novice here) seems the absolu denseness seems to amplify the booziness and the vanilla. You asked are they worth the price I think yes. I do enjoy the frags. of Frapin. I am testing Speakeasy right now. Enjoy Amour Boisee too.
