Scent for SE Asia

I'm heading to SE Asia for 3 months. I live in a cold climate and have tons of scents for here, but what would you all recommend for a scent for there? I need something universal for day/evening and casual/semi upscale. I'm not going to be wearing suits but might go to nice restaurants from time to time.

I'm thinking Artisan by John Varvatos; pleasant and easy to wear but not generic. Notes include tangelo, mandarin, clementine, thyme, marjoram, lavandin, orange blossom, georgywood.

I lived in Southern Vietnam for 2 years (much hotter than the North) and I used a lot of Terre d'Hermes, seemed to work well. I also had Lolita Lempicka PH. Both did the trick.

Do you ever try Non fecal oud of South East Asia ? if you wish I can take you to a distillery in Indonesia that make such

There are some BN members from Thailand: moltening , jss, KiatBkk, etc.

Most Thai people I know are crazy about aquatic, citrus, or fresh, but some people also like to wear somethings really dense and sweet. Popular scents here are, Acqua Di Gio, Allure Homme Series, Bleu, Isey Misaki, Cool Water, Light Blue, etc.

Many perfumer lovers in Thailand like Jo Malone, once I saw a guy posted on our famous public forum, reviewing all Jo Malone and suggest many blending recipes.

I'd like to suggest you to wear something with vetiver, citrus, green, or fresh. Aquatic is too overrated here.

- Sycamore for your extravagance diner

- Terre d'Hermes Pure Parfum, I have got a compliment from my supervisor while wearing it

- Jo Malone Lime, Basil & Mandarin, really remind me of TomYam Krung, the famous Thai spicy soup

- Guerlain Homme

- Un Jardin sur le Nil, Un Jardin en Méditerranée, Un Jardin Après La Mousson work great here

- Platinum Égoïste

By the way, if you come here in winter I think you can use your cold weather scent here on cold days which I hope it coming soon.

Actually, you can wear anything here. All you need to do is using less sprays of those cold weather fragrance. I can wear winter scents like Ambre Narquille, Noir de Noir and New York Oud here without offending anyone so far.

Where in SE Asia, I know it's winter in India so you won't have to worry about changing to a hot weather scent.

Exactly. It's just common sense, really. But I don't deny there are indeed fragrances that perform better in cooler drier climates.

I would add for the tropics:
Creed - Aventus
Greens such as Diptyque - Philosykos
Florals such as S lutens - Fleurs d'Oranger

Amber doesn't work so well in the heat, and perhaps not leather either, I think.
