Just curious. For me its probably tobacco. Cant get enough of it apparently.
Probably sandalwood.
Probably incense or spices
Patchouli
Incense or Spices
Lemon, bergamot, or vetiver.
incense
anything slightly sweet - vanilla, cocoa, amber, labdanum + patchouli
post #9 of 51
Probably vanilla
Probably cedar, closely followed by sandalwood.
Not sure what you are asking. If you are asking what note appears in the greatest number of our fragrances, I don't see how anyone could possibly arrive at any answer but vanilla. It the staple basenote in most modern fragrances. Way overused in my opinion.
Pretty balanced wardrobe sans white flowers and fruity notes based perfumes.

Perhaps a slight skew towards vetiver.
Patchouli or Tonka Bean
Jeez this is going to take some analysis...

Sandalwood, Oakmoss, Vetiver and possibly some others but these are the main ones I would have thought.

Can you tell I like woody scents then?
Probably rose and/or vetiver.
I don't know, to be honest
Most likely, citrus, but either one among tobacco, leather, musk, amber, vetiver, cedar, sandalwood likely qualifying for a "second place".
It has to be either vetiver or spice.
incense and vetiver
Never thought seriously about this before. Something woody I would imagine.
Leather or tuberose, haven't counted.
Amber in the winter, vanilla all year round.
Hmm, probably sandalwood and vanilla or amber... Lots of violets and cinnamon as well...
Vanilla
"odd"
Florals, spices and vetiver, I suppose
Most of my frags do not have a "central note" . . . in fact, I'd say most frags in general are based on an interplay of notes. A small minority feature one particular ingredient or accord -- soliflores, pathchoulis, vetivers etc.
Bergamot, Tobacco, Violet leaves, Leather, Sandalwood
post #29 of 51
Cedar or Woods is a good theme
Civet.....just kidding
Can't answer that one.
Without doing the actual research I'd guess that beyond vanilla there are good amounts of oakmoss, patchouli, and sandalwood.
Has to be vanilla

- - - Updated - - -

was expecting that to be the overwhelming note mentioned in the thread too
post #34 of 51
leather, vanilla and amber or musk
Honestly, I don't know. Possibly spices or vetiver. Maybe sandalwood...
I know I like ambergris, ISO E Super, and Vetiver in small amounts.
Wow, I have no idea. It would be interesting to log in all the note pyramids and see the numbers.
Artemisia hands down
lavendar, tea, bergamot, leather
Probably Citrus and Mint

This thread is kinda vague so I'm just gonna hijack it. Bro, what is your favorite wormwood frag? I considered mentioning it before I decided to critique the question instead. I think mine is Ungaro I, with several O'Driu's coming on its heels.

Woody notes followed by gourmandish notes
post #43 of 51
This is a very interesting question. I have a pretty well-rounded collection, but (just guessing) I would say Lemon, Amber, Incense, and Oud are the most common notes in my collection.
Rose and cumin
Realistically bergamot. I like a lot of notes, but I seem to have more than my share of leathers.
incense or patchouli

Sure frags are an interplay of many notes but saying that there isnt a central note is like saying an orchestra conducts itself. Is Knize Ten not a leather central fragrance? Of course the amber, patchouli, and oak moss(synthetic now) and many other notes are present, but when someone asks whats your favorite "leather" fragrance, you dont answer with "none because all frags are an interplay of many different notes". I avoided using the term "central theme" so people wouldnt answer with Chypre or Fougre etc. but I think that would be a more appropriate term. And why would you purposefully hijack someone else's thread? You didnt even succeed at it. Just start your own thread and try to have some respect for other people on this site. I dont get why people have to add pointless comments to threads they dont agree with, just dont reply to it and use your time more wisely. Bro

well, you got me there as I have no idea. My collection varies so much that is hard to ascertain any particularities.

This is a good question. I've thought about this before after realizing that I've sure got a lot of patchouli in my wardrobe for someone who has always detested the hippie pure form.

Rose, Amber, Vetiver, or Oud....I dunno really
