I'm shocked! This stuff is disgusting... I congratulated myself though as this was the first time I actually trash a perfume sample... they dare call it perfume, I call it trash can BOTTLED (LOL)

can anyone guess what it is ?
Is this a game, or do you really want to know because you don't know?
You're definitely not talking about Angel, because that does not smell like garbage at all. Unless your garbage smells like patchouli, chocolate, and caramel.

Angel, an iconic contemporary fragrance, is in a blue star shaped bottle. It is essentially a patchouli oriental with gourmand notes. It is not to everyones taste, but it is nevertheless an exceptional fragrance, IMO.

Ooooooh! Or is it a Tauer?

Pure Shot?

My guess is Bond No. 9 - Hampton's, Coney Island or Nuits de Noho.

I happen to like several of Bond's fragrances. It's like anything else, what you enjoy I may not and vice-versa.

To say you didn't like, would be one thing, but to call it garbage is a stretch.

I won't keep you waiting for too long.... the winner is Bond's CONEY ISLAND! what a messed up fragrance that was. I never thought rotten fish accord existed until I tried this one

Hopefully I didn't offend any Bond fans but this is the first time I react this way to a perfume, I usually tolerate most fragrances and if I don't like it I just say I don't, but this one was extremely bad and I couldn't even scrub it off easily!

^Agreed
Oh! I have a sample. A fresh, slightly aromatic, fruity fragrance. No fishy notes to me and certainly no "garbage" notes.
I was hoping you were going to say Bond I Love New York for Him.

I HATE that one.

Agreed. Not one of my favorites, and certainly did not have any fishy notes.
I thought it was Wall Street that smelt like fish.
lol nice thread title. I thought you were talking about Angel, and I was ready to defend it, but alas, yeah I don't particularly like Bond no. 9 fragrances much either.
I would love garbage to smell like Coney Island.
I was afraid you were going to say Bond I Love New York for Him.

I LOVE that one.
Phew, I thought you were talking about Angel Men, by the title.

ok let's try to describe Bond no.9 Coney Island in a different way. How about this... you're standing near rotten water, stale air, it's humid, you're standing next to a small lake or river so no salt water, you see some dead fish washed up on the shore and someone opened a garbage bag full of rotten fruits and left it there!?

but then some parts of new york city do smell like that sometimes!!!

It's Andy Tauer?
I have Coney Island. I like it but don't love it. It has it's place IMO. Describing it as rotten fish is ridiculous hyperbolic crap in my opinion. If you don't like it then fine, but don't make yourself look stupid with that sort of rubbish.
I have a handful of Coney Island samples. I think it is a very interesting fragrance. I liked it the first few times I wore it - then I started to not like it quite so much. I think it has a very unique combination of notes, but I certainly don't get any rotten fish note from it. Perhaps your sample has gone bad?
I find Coney Island's top notes to be one of the best renditions of a lime note around. My problem with it is that it stays a bit too linear. I only like a few Bonds, but to call this one garbage? No, I don't agree.

I have never come accross a note of "rotten fish" in any fragrance I have ever tried, and I don't expect to, I know exactly what de-composing fish smells like. The very British term "bollocks" comes to mind on this particular occasion.

Lollllll ♦ looks like someone needs to relax! I'm editing this post... if you think what I'm saying is crap then that's ok, everyone is entitled to their own opinions and I wasn't expecting everyone to agree with me anyways.

I'm sorry I made a mistake earlier, maybe it doesn't smell like rotten fish... it smells like fresh fish!
I'm happy to smell like garbage then, and my wife likes the smell of garbage on me...so if it smells like garbage, then pile it on me. To each their own.

Rotten fish? You, dear sir, just made my day

A*Men is thee single most disgusting thing I've ever come across in my entire life!!! Literally makes me want to vomit. Not sure how this garbage sells. I'd rather just crap myself
post #38 of 48
By your description, you sure your sample didn't have used massengill juice?
I was like "Oh no, she didn't" when I though it was Angel that you were talking about :P
post #40 of 48
I do enjoy Bond fragrances with that said I don't enjoy some of their fragrances. Coney Island is one that I don't enjoy at all, yet I must say that to my nose it smells nothing like rotten fish.

All I get is a margarita smell with this fragrance, the note pyramid for the fragrance to my nose is not accurate because I get no chocolate, caramel or vanilla!!!!

@ keagaz08

I'm.....I'm happy for you and imma let you finish, but A*Men is one of the greatest fragrances of all time......of all time!!!!

Laughing...I have not sampled nor tried "Coney Island"...having grown up in Brooklyn NY and having exceedingly fond memories of Coney Island I would have hoped that such an iconic title would smell fantastic.

Does Bond No 9 Coney Island smell like Nathan's Hotdogs?

LOL ... Are you saying those hot dogs smell that bad?

it's weird how many people clicked on this thread thinking it was Angel ... is it cuz many here think Thierry Mugler's release stinks or because many came to defend it ? I think it's 50/50
post #44 of 48
Damn, I guessed Angel. However, calling Angel garbage is a compliment to the utter putrid shit it really is.

I only sampled Coney Island once. I actually found it pretty interesting and unique, and overall a pleasant smelling gourmand. On my skin, it smelled a bit too feminine, so I didn't wear it again, but I definitely didn't find it "bad" smelling. It's definitely quite unique, and a strange mix of notes, so I could easily see many people not taking to it. To each their own...

I HATE that one.

+1 ... One of the few fragrances that literally made me feel nauseous. Not sure what notes caused this, but I had to immediately throw the paper that I sprayed it on away. I thanked God that I didn't spray it on myself.

The problem with Bond fragrances is that 1) they make WAY too many of them, and 2) 90% of them are sub-par to mediocre. Just my opinion. There are a few that I truly like though, like New York Oud and ILNY for Marriage Equality. New Haarlem isn't bad either.

dont smell any rotten fish in coney island either but somethin ive noticed with samples, official or decant : sometimes it DOES develop a fishy smell ( in all uses of the word if u catch my drift ) , or almost like a wet rag smell . i bought a small decant of something and wore it a few times before it putting it away . bout 2 weeks later i took the cap off and it smelled fishy , i mean like fish . i was like wtf ? this has happened to a few other decants with some of them arriving to me with that fishy smell already there . it happened recently with a small decant of double vanille . i notice that when this happens its always with the plastic bottles and not glass ones and this has never happened to any of my full size bottles . i wondered if maybe its the moisture from under the lil plastic cap but this ironically happened with a 10ml decant of sushi imperiale that has no cap (but is in a plastic bottle) . i keep all my stuff , samples / decants / full sizes in a cool dark cabinet

It's funny, Coney Island is one of the VERY few Bond's I can stand.
