Is it sad that...

... Joop! Homme is one of my favorite fragrances? It's overly sweet, highly senthetic, and loud but I love it. I have the vintage version, by the way. Am I alone on this?

Then you may want to adjust your top 10 (which I really dig btw)

I really can't stand Joop!

Oh well.

Not really sad. The fact that you can enjoy it along with your Green Irish Tweed and Desert Marocain shows that you have diverse tastes.

What would be sad is if you decided not to like Joop solely because of pressure from a niche-loving community.

Personally, I really love Cool Water (even though I do have Green Irish Tweed). Everyone on here will say Cool Water is a bad fragrance, but me, I think it's one of the best in the designer market.

I like Joop. What is the difference between the vintage and modern version?

Definitely not sad. Personally I detest the stuff, but if it works for you then wear it proudly and enjoy doing so.

Not a fan myself.

It cannot be sad that you like what you like. I love Joop! Homme, and not affected by any of the stereotypes attached to it.

I wish I could say otherwise, but it is one of the worst fragrances I have ever sniffed... Different strokes... As long as *you* love it, then it isn't sad though (and I am sure you are not alone, as the fragrance is still being sold all these years since its release).

Kickin it oldschool. But GIT is 1985 so a LOT of people do I guess.

It has been/is? a popular scent, still available unlike other discontinue fragrances, I doubt you're alone. Just enjoy your Joop! :-)

Is it sad that I have stopped playing pokémon?

I really enjoy Joop!, but find it hard to wear.

I personally dislike Joop but fully understand others' love of it. Wear it!

I do not dislike Joop; in fact I think the drydown is very similar to Bulgari Black, which I love. Joop has massive sillage: I know a manager at work who was easily able to follow the scent trail of a gentleman wearing Joop down the hallway through the hotel to ask him what he was wearing.

If that's what you like bro, rock on!

Why? It might smell not that good to my nose (cough syrup), but it does get compliments from the gals like no one does. Frankly, a mystery. I have a small one (1 Oz), I plan to buy a big one, go figure...

Besides, you like it. Who should care yo do!

I like it, still want to get my hands on homme wild but it's not around in Vegas that I have seen yet.

This is the one scent that smells completely different to me than what the Basenotes community thinks it smells like. The rest of the scents I own have been spot on with what the community has said about it.

There are so many people that say it smells like cough syrup. I've tried really hard to gain a perspective of what people smell in this, but I don't get this at all. I get a very pungent rose smell with a vanilla drydown (the drydown in the vintage has a little better vanilla drydown than the modern). This is the one time I'm glad I'm against the crowd with what I actually smell.

I really love their shower gel. It can be a very sexy smell.

Another fan here. It just smells so damn good!!

It's very sad that you are so stuck on this ancient scent, when there is so much better to be had.
Joop Thrill, Joop Electric Heat, Joop Beach Clubbing and Joop Go for example (though I'm not as thrilled with Joop Hot Contact).
Even Joop Splash has become a summer favourite for me.

Alternatively, use a toned down version of Joop Homme, namely Joop Homme Aftershave splash. It only lasts for 2 days, and has less sillage than the EDT, and less people get aggravated when you wear it.
Cheers,
Renato

Not sad at all, it's a classic fragrance without a doubt.

I used to have a bottle back in the day when I only had about 3 or 4 to rotate and it got used up after about 5 years.

A lot of the fragrances I had back then like Tommy, Versace Blue Jeans and Minotaure I do look back on and wish I still had but at the same time I wouldn't buy them again.

I look back at them the way you remember old girl friends or your school days, the time has gone but you still have the memories.

Maybe I will pick up another bottle of Joop at some point - I always thought it was a scent that a girl could rock as well, same as Lolita Lempicka in that regard. So sweet you could almost eat someone who was wearing it! It's also one that is very well known, people would always recognise it.

I like the new one (Wild) much more....

Not sad at all. Wear it proudly. Along these lines...

My wife smelled my neck at about 9:45 last night and asked jokingly "Do you have your fake JOOP! on?"

It was Creed Original Santal. She loves it and was just sticking the needle to me! I had applied it at 8:15 yesterday morning, just 2 sprays!
