Hi All,

Congratulations Danny and welcome to the world, MJ !

I did indeed have a great evening, Jon. Thanks so much for asking. The final ballet piece was set to Fauré's Requiem and was very moving. I wore Tabac Blond, but caught whiffs of No.5 on several others (not surprising). Smelt a delicious jasmine perfume on a lady, but was too slow (ok, shy) to ask her what it was.

Out again tonight for this month's Perfume Lovers meetup - all about iris this time. Always good fun.

Testing No.5 Sensual Elixir today, courtesy of the ever-generous PL.

Have a great Thursday, all.

Morning everyone,

Danny a MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS to you and your family. One of the best smells ever is a newborn baby's head ( I hope I'm not alone in this lol)

It's an absolutely horrendous day up here so I need something comforting. I will be wearing Tabac Blond Extrait - from a sample In anticipation of my bottle being delivered tomorrow

Wearing La Myrrhe today.

The perfume hasn't stopped radiating for the past 5 hours. A constant blast of bliss.

Good morning everyone and Congratulations to Danny Today...and yesterday evening I've been and am in a weird, sentimental mood. The ex-bf is slept over 8on the couch) to get his things. I've got mixed emotions about the hole thing. Glad to get it over with, but it also feels so much more....final no Sotd is L'heure bleue. Hope you all have a great day.

Oh Danny, what wonderful news. Welcome wee bairn, and may you have health, happiness and prosperity.

Lovely posts today. G, sigh. Iris tonight. Lucky Duck. Report please?

Took a notion for Juniper Sling today.

Wonderful news, danny! Big congratulations!
Oh, I am jealous as usual, G., for all these London events...
I'm wearing Boxeuses today. In theory, I like it more than I used to, but the low sillage is something I can't be anything but underwhelmed. Too bad!
In order to keep my holy (few things are holy to me, you might have figured) strategic reserve stock of vintage L'Heure Bleue EdP untouched, I got a replacement bottle of 2002 jus only slightly used. It's in superb condition, so this will be my SotE again. And boy it really does not only fill a room but a house with its sillage... :-)

(Pecking letters from my Kindle.)

In case I don't get to the big computer today from which to do a more illustrative job of posting, I just want to make sure at least plain words go out to ...

RHM -- Your Shalimar story was sweet.
Danny -- Best health and happiness wishes to your little family.
Gandhajala -- We need to get "shy you" a wingman.
Larimar -- I'm going to wear L'Heure Bleu today since you put the thought in my mind.
Jon -- Love the looks of that lone, stone home. Gee, wonder why?
Fragranceman -- I think I'd enjoy the severity of your dark weather. Such drama makes me tingle. However, today the weather will be exceptionally pleasant, and I'm heading out with shovel and rake for one last glorious dance with the land before she hibernates.
BN Thanksgivingers -- May you enjoy whatever brings you comfort today. Smooches all around.

We have some males in the buff on our SotD thread. Anyone would like to develop a tendency?

Huge congratulations to danny and wife. Welcome to the world, JM!

Happy Thanksgiving to all who clebrate! Personally, I have a lot to be grateful for and consider myself blessed.

Ravishingly beautiful Coriandre Extrait, for the day of feeding the crowd.

Continuous healing wishes to shades.

Oh, naughty Twolf! Not a bad idea though...

RHM, loved your Shalimar story! Have seen lots of old Guerlain bottles in nursing homes, especially L'Heure Bleu. The ladies always seem surprised when I go all googly-eyed over them. Love to spot those beauties!

Dr.G, I'm always jealous of you having all these wonderful perfume events right in your hometown! But this one is extra special, I'm dying for a report already!

Congratulations, danny!

No scent yet and no idea what I'll be wearing for Thanksgiving dinner. Made four pumpkin cheesecakes yesterday, one of which my 3 year old niece took a spoon to before it had even cooled! Of course she did this right after I had told her she had to save it for today. Was nothing to be done but laugh my fool head off!

Have a very Happy Thanksgiving to those celebrating! Everyone else, have a great Thursday!

Congratulations, Danny! How wonderful!

I'm doing the turkey differently this year. I've spatchcocked it (I just learned that word and had to use it! LOL) This is another word for butterflying it.

One removes the backbone (using poultry shears and a cleaver) and then breaks the breastbone to lay the bird flat. (I also removed the legs and laid them beside the bird on either side, and tucked the wing tips under.) Why do this? It cooks more evenly this way, and faster. You can even cook it on a grill if you choose. I've tried various ways to cook the turkey evenly over the years but I think this is going to be my new method from now on.

No scent today, the food scents in the air are enough.

Edit:

The 15 lb. turkey cooked thoroughly and evenly in only 1 hour and 40 minutes-- and was moist throughout! I'm definitely going to be butterflying the bird every Thanksgiving from now on.

Afternoon all,

Laughing at Quarry's 'pecking' at the keys on her kindle. Exactly how I feel when I have to type on my ipad.
Foustie & PL - I'll try and peck out a short report tomorrow, time permitting. Sure wish you could both be there (of course, it would be great if everyone could be there).
Decided I'll join Larimar and Inees tonight in l'heure bleue (parfum).

Best to all.

JR, care to guess what was Mr.T's favorite building on the Red Square last year? Wrong, not St.Basil's Cathedral, no, it was GUM -- the State Department Store, with the green roof, shown behind St.Basil's and the monument.

Back from the restaurant, fed but slightly disappointed: not that many people came to eat. Which is good in a way -- hopefully, they spend more time with the families!
Ah, GUM! I went 'shopping' there back in 1990. It was full of baskets and tights but not much else. Also queued for ages to visit Lenin in his tomb and narrowly avoided being arrested for unruly behaviour in Red Square. What a great trip that was! Happy days.

Congratulations Danny and family - wishing you all health and happiness!

Happy Thanksgiving to you good folks across the water!

Anyways, sotd was Musc Ravageur

I'm feeling very sated. My husband makes a fabulous turkey & stuffing. Sofie pitched in and made veggies & mashed potatoes. I did the rest. Very good day.

Blessed holiday to all who celebrate the day.

Congratulations to the growing Danny family!!!!

I wore Mandragore today, so as not to compete with the food and wine. Will go for something richer tonight, probably Mitsouko edc.
