Gendarme's sillage.

Does it have much after an hour or so. I am wondering if this is one that others can smell when you can't.

On a side, I have to see that it is so easy to wear. I was wearing Timbuktu the other day and Gendarme in comparison, felt so much easier to wear. It was as if Timbuktu required effort and energy to wear, while Gendarme was easy.

Gendarme seemed to project & last for quite a while on my skin...which is saying something, because my skin usually chews up fragrances - even powerhouses, pretty quickly. For a "clean" fragrance, I'd say it's well above average in that department.

The one time I tried it, it had very poor lasting power. Not for me.

I can't detect the scent after an hour but everyone I come in arms lenght comment on it through out the day. That is a reason I am not a fan of it I like to smell a little of my fragrance and enjoy it though out the day.

Sillage is below average, but it's not designed to yell. Gendarme whispers to those very close by that you are clean and wearing an understated cologne. That's about it.

Longevity is between 4-6 hours on me.

Lately, I've preferred Mugler Cologne.

Gendarme does last, but for some reason the wearer gets use to it pretty quickly . The EDP version lasts much longer and you are able to smell it on yourself for several hours..

The EDP is the better choice for those who want to catch whiffs of the frag all day.

Agree 100%. The original version does last but like I said your nose can't pick up on it after about an hour or so. I get whiffs of the EDP even after 10 hours although I must admit I spray quite a bit..

I remember being in a museum in Russia and someone in my tour group smelled SO GOOD and I had to ask him what fragrance he was wearing an it was Gendarme. He said what others mentioned above, that he couldn't smell it on himself, but I could clearly smell it walking beside him.

I personally have never owned this scent.

Refreshing an old thread...Anyone know the difference it longevity between Gendarme cologne and Gendarme EdP? Is it worth the extra money? I love the EdC, but its longevity sucks
