Baldessarini Ambre and Boss Bottled

I've seen countless comparisons of the two, but for those of you who own both, which of the two takes the cake in the following categories:

-"College" feel (younger)

-Longevity/Projection

-Overall scent

I currently own 2 bottles of Boss Bottled, and love the stuff, but I am contemplating whether I should purchase Ambre as well. Money is a bit of an issue, I have decided that until 2013, I will only be purchasing 1 more bottle! I have my sights set on 1 Million so that'll probably be the bottle I go with, if Ambre isn't that great of a fragrance.

Save your money, Boss #6 wins in all 3 categories.

Boss #6 for sure. Better quality, long lasting, better smelling.

Thank you everyone! That is what I was (honestly) hoping to hear.

I agree with the others, between these two Boss #6 is the superior scent. However the regular Baldessarini (not the Ambre) is well worth checking out if you like Boss #6. Inexpensive, too.

Thank you Chasing The Dragon!
I actually have a sample of that, I will revisit it. I recall not being impressed by it, but you never know!

They are really very different. I see no similarities.

In the sense of how they smell, there's a big difference. Boss Bottled is, most'll say, the best by Boss. Baldessarini Ambre, on the other hand can hardly be compared to the former mentioned. I'd sooner compare Boss Bottled to CK Obsession for men and Chanel Allure. Ambre is more refined, far less youthful in my opinion and overall better fragrance. Boss Bottled is more KNOWN, much better marketed even today and the most sold Boss fragrance. Don't get me wrong, I love Boss Bottled, but I must be objective and say Baldessarini Ambre is class above it.

Baldessarini Ambre is like Zgb said One class above. It seperates the men from the boys !
Its an ultra luxe perfume which is not expensive !

Buy Ambre !!!

One of the best bang for your buck is Baldessarini Ambre. It has the DNA of Boss Bottled in it but its own fragrance. I find it a very soothing fragrance. I like to wear it around the holidays.

To me, I could see Dean Martin wearing this scent back in the day. It just has that classy, fun, stylish, yet laid back kinda vibe.

Agree completely with Zgb. It's like comparing Allure Homme to Allure Homme Sport Extreme. Ambre is a classy, sweet oriental that is smooth and refined - more subtle that Boss Bottled but last very well. I'd also describe Ambre as less versatile as it is more of a fall/winter or special occasion scent while Bottled can be worn anytime & anywhere. Both are good fragrances so it really just depends on your needs.

I will have to try Ambre now. Hopefully I can find some samples of it. I think I'm going to stick with Boss #6 (since Ambre is less youthful) but Ambre does sound like a potential buy...in the future.

I like them both, only own Bottles, but as an overall impression, I'd honestly prefer Ambre, maybe it's because Bottled has been a staple in my regular rotation for 10+ years now.

Ken, it must be THAT good then!
I'll definitely give Ambre a try, I just wish it were available as a tester at Sephora or Macys.

Boss #6 is very nice but was regarded as a "clubbing" fragrance when it came out as it is quite potent. It is probably somewhat old school for a 2012 college guy, particularly in the classroom. Ambre is not great, but is pleasant and a bit more up to date and sophisticated.

Boss #6 was considered a clubbing scent at one point? Hmm..I can see why; although I've always thought of it as more of an every day "going out" scent. It does seem a bit old school in a sense, but in all honesty it's kept it's reputation throughout the years (again, if that makes any sense). None the less, I still enjoy Boss #6. I don't know what it is about this particular fragrance, but it seems to be my go-to scent when I can't decide on anything else.

I have read that a lot about Ambre. Many members describe it as a "up to date/sophisticated/older brother" version of Boss #6. That alone makes it sound pleasant...but I definitely need to try this one first. Initially it seemed like a safe blind by, but I'm not too certain any more.
Thanks for the input

I think, dear sir, that you'd love Baldessarini Ambre.

Ambre reminds me of soaps in a men's room, so I'd go with no. 6

Hands down Ambre is the mack daddy of them all.. I would pick Ambre over boss bottled any day. #6 to me is youthful but Ambre is sophisticated, mature, It has real character. I love it

For sure if that's what you are used too and enjoy.... But def don't discount Ambre. To me #6 is liken to a two story house where Ambre is liken to mansion with a fancy car out front and fine china in cupboard. lol it screams luxurious but can be both that and youthful at the same time. It balances well...

I regret buying Baldessarini Ambre. Sample first.
