At first sniff I get cumin quite strong and maybe some nutmeg trying to cover up . . . no other way to say it, an awful stench of burning onions with some other odd camphor. Sounds strange and...
I had a long perfectly civil acquaintanceship with Duc de Vervins long before I elected to purchase a bottle. I tried it several times at Bergdorf's and passed on it thinking it is too strong;...
Cool, but sunny Tirrenco opens up with dry, bitter orange peel and a very stark ouzo (or, if you prefer, vodka infused with fennel bulb). There's an undercurrent of salty detritus, washed up on a...
Last year I purchased "4711 - Melissa & Verbena" and was mind blown about the freshness and how long it would last. Last week I saw the whole range of 4711 on sale and immediately wanted to buy...
I enjoyed this fragrance because it is very unique and has amazing performance. Something I've never noticed in a fragrance that I do with this one is there are a couple of notes that "fight"...
I am having a lazy morning by the warm oven as I took the half day off, but I will have to attend a workshop in my area later. It saves me from commuting in and out of Vienna.
Eau de Fleurs de Cedrat for starters and possibly Jicky EdP for later.
Best to all
EDIT: I may feel more like Sous le Vent, right Wolfie?!
Hello everyone, SOTD is Mauboussin. Late-autumn splendor in a bottle.
Notes include plum, bergamot, mandarin, white peach, jasmine, ylang ylang, Turkish rose, amber, patchouli, sandalwood, benzoin, cedar, and vanilla
Oh my, I am definately the odd one out today amidst all this wonderful classicism and richness. For reasons unknown I took a notion for Molecule One yesterday, Iso e Super in a bottle. I had forgotten how much I like the floaty, ghostly, dry woody, Irisy character of this material. I really do enjoy it, so the same again for me today!
I started my morning with a much-needed hard run in LizSport, and now I'm all showered and refreshed and ready to get on with things in Vivre de Molyneux.
Morning everybody. Mike, sorry I missed your Bday yesterday, so a belated happy wish from me. Quarry! Oh my! Demeter's Dirt comes to mind, but you are right, not really much to match that mood!
Hello all Today the packing, organizing ( or an attempt of that at least :P) and cleaning continues. Sotd is Samsara. Just kind of as in that mood today. Happy belated b.day to Mike Hope the day was awsome!
(((inees))) I'm betting you'll feel better once you're out of that apartment for good. So I'm hoping the packing/cleaning/move go quickly for you. Hang in there.
Winter is really bringing out my sweet tooth cravings. Today is Mazzolari Lei, with notes of cocoa, labdanum, vanilla, patchouli, and woods. It's wearing like a cozy merino sweater, dusted with cocoa powder.
Anyway, SoTD Musc et Freesia by Coudray. It's comforting like a flannel shirt; pretty and feminine and a little bit "mumsy" (but not in a bad way). I've been wearing this for a few days now, actually.
Wolfie reminded me last week that I needed to revisit my sota, Jean-Marc Sinan's Sinan, a quintessential although largely unappreciated classic 80s chypre. I'm glad I did, too ...it is just so sophisticated and so chic ...and long-discontinued, of course.
Well, as usual, we've contributed some very fine smells to the atmosphere today!
Having sampled a load of Goutal over these last few days, I'm taking a break to wear my newest "baby", HdP Tubereuse 1: La Capricieuse. Can't get enough of this weird iris/tuberose suede. Good-night, everyone!
E., I will wear Sinan tomorrow, OK? So glad I have got me a FB when I had a chance. Somehow very tired again, all this running around in the wind. Only imagine how Q. is tired after managing a crew of construction workers with heavy machinery (almost wrote "artillery").
