Alternative to Gucci Pour Homme II

Thread Starter
Is there an alternative to Gucci Pour Homme II that is almost identical?
oH YEAH!
Hanae Mori HIM edt is reallly close... although I have been wearing the EDP and it has been great! I already own Gucci PH II so buying the EDT doesn't make sense, but I am probably going to buy the EDP since it is more woodsy and longer lasting than Guccii PH II tbh

Not much else similar out there.

Tea for Two
Spicebomb has a similar tea note in there. They aren't 100% the same, but Spicebomb reminds me of Gucci PH 2 along with a few others.

Although they aren't the same, I find that I wear PHII less because I have Royal Oud.

You can still buy it online from several sites.... (If it being discontinued is why you're asking)
It does pop up from time to time online.

I'll second the Spicebomb recommendation. It's not the same, but the cinnamon and tea effect is there. And Spicebomb is a stronger fragrance (it has more presence). Others have also recommended L'Artisan's Tea for Two, though that's getting tougher to find.

+1 Spicebomb.

Blvgari PH Soir, it is in similar style though smell very differently and heavier.

I tried both, GpH 2 is the clone of Tea for Two by l'Artisan Parfumeur, but less expensive

I don't find tea for two similar to GPHII at all. Spicebomb does remind me of GPHII, but not really what I'd call similar either.

Another recommendation for Hanae Mori HiM.
nothing is quite like it.

you can try bulgari black though

I haven't come across anything similar enough as a substitute. GPH II is definitely light, but it's just so well blended that it's hard to find something to replace it. I do know Gucci still sells 100 ml bottles of it directly off their US website for $73 shipped. Considering it's pretty tough to find it discounted a whole lot more than that, it's not a bad deal or way to go.

I disagree. While Tea for Two is indeed great tea based scent with noticable amount of cinnamon it has none of fresh aspects of Gucci PH II which makes it unique.

Lalique Equus

Juicy Couture Dirty English

Try Fath's Yang.

Totally agree.

GphII is such a unique scent. I get the comparisons to Hanae Mori HiM, but the similarity there is strictly in the open and is gone after a minute or two. Spicebomb? I don't sense a similarity at all (though I enjoy both). In my opinion, GphII is a work of art.

I have no idea what Gucci is up to though. GphII disappears from stores for months, then returns, only to disappear again.

Yes this is truth , but similarity is in place, we can't find anything alike , clone, but if someone like the opening and not the dry he can go with HM, if there is a love for tea notes, easy new love can be Tea for Two ... in my case TfT is so much better solution.

They still sell Gucci locally at my Sephora. Too bad I don't care for it.
Tea for Two is similar, but not quite the same. I like GPHII better myself, and if I am not mistaken, T42 has been discontinued anyway. Whether or not GPHII has been discontinued or not, it can still be found, and it is not too expensive, so if you like GPHII, no need to look for alternatives - yet...

me neither.

I only smelled the opening of HiM and based on that its really really close to GPH II, I can't speak for the heart and base.

I might be off but yesterday I wore Coeur de Vetiver Sacre by L'Artisan and it reminded me of Gucci Pour Homme II. Not saying they are exactly the same but they both share a tea and spices vibe. This can also be found cheap on fragrancenet.

Where can you find Hanae Mori - HiM?
I've checked everywhere but the only places that sell it are retail stores.
just tried HiM today ...

if GPH 2 smells like a cup of cinnamon and spice black tea, HiM is that same cup with shot of vanilla and cream.

the tonka bean in HiM seems to really round out and soften the dry down giving it a really nice rich feel, whereas GPH 2 smells a bit more crisp and translucent. it's very much like comparing Chanel Allure Sport Cologne VS Allure Edition Blanche.

however, they are so close the normal person probably couldn't tell the difference.

That's a great comparison. I've only tried the EdT. I'd really like to see how the EdP compares.

I've been telling people since that came out that it was very simliar. I own both bottles and actually enjoy CdVS a little better with that dried fruit smell.
I absolutely love Gucci PH II but absolutely hate Coeur de Vetiver Sacre... different folks different tastes. Yes it has similiar vibe (but IMO also Timbuktu has similiar vibe (spicy woody and bit fresh) to Gucci PH II) but different execution.
All these alternatives - great scents in their own rights - do not hit on my skin that same wonderful balance of tea, light spice and inherent bright freshness IMO.
Why are you looking for an alternative to the original stuff, it is still available and hasn't been discontinued, if I remember correctly.

Royal Oud
Tea For Two
