What are some of your favorite barbershop scents?

Murdock? Penhaligon? Trumper?

The one I am wearing today, Crown Imperial, by the sadly out-of-business Crown Perfumery

YSL Rive Gauche, but maybe also, if it may qualify as barbershop style, Caron pour un Homme.

They do but I think they are sold out at the moment.

Barbershop scent? Any Gillette product will do if I simply want a barbershop smell.

When I really want to go back to my earliest barbershop memories I go way back to the original mid-'60's version of Pinaud in glass bottle version of:

Clubman, Clubman Special Reserve, Lilac Vegetal,
Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum,Citrus Musk and Lime Sec for these bring back the memories of my youth...

I used Lilac Vegetal for years in college!

Givenchy Pi? barbershop scent? What am I missing here?

Now that I have thought about it a bit longer, I sometimes get that barbershop vibe when wearing Chanel's Platinum Egoiste.

Currently liking Acqua di Parma Lavanda Tonica quite a bit. Got this a short time ago. It is one fragrance that is exactly what the name suggests.

The same thing I'm missing if PE is a barbershop scent I guess...When's the last time your barber hosed you down with PE? If we're talking ACTUAL barbershop fragrances, then we're gonna have to kick it old school and splash on some Pinaud Clubman, Lucky Tiger, Old Spice, or even some good ol' Aqua Velva. Rive Gauche doesn't actually smell like a barbershop to me, nor does Pi, but they give me that clean, gentlemanly feel as if I'd just come out of the barbershop with a fresh haircut.

Pour Monsieur Concentree or The Original by Chanel are the ones I like since I'm not very into barbershop scents.

For those interested I found a sample set of Penhaligon's for men on Amazon.com

You get 5 of their men's scents in 1 oz bottles for $50

just search the Amazon site for "Penhaligon's set"

For me it has to be AdP's Essena di Colonia which is just so 'barbershop' like I can't describe it in any other way.

I also own 4711 so to be honest that should get a mention, even though I don't wear it as a fragrance.

Thanks for all the recommendations.

I've purchased the Penhaligons sample set (which does not contain racquets, unfortunately. I'm having difficulty finding it)

I've also purchased Rive Gauche and Murdocks Black Tea.
