I would say it is closer to Signoricci or Monsieur Balmain, one of the top lemon bursts of all time...

Very different IMO.

Sorry, no... And I prefer it, for what it's worth even though they are both good scents.

no.

In that they are "old world", classical, Lemon and Verbena fragrances, then yes they have some things in common. However, YSL PH was never a Chypre (that hard to define accord of Bergamot & Oakmoss). The latest reformulation lists Oakmoss as a note but I'm not convinced.

It's very herbal too, and the herbs make a potent brew that has a dirty, unwashed, sweaty vibe.

Are they ANYTHING alike? I suppose there are some similarities (like the lemonish opening), but overall, I'm another no. When I first received samples of them, I wore them on different days. My first thought = the were similar. Then I wore L'Homme on one wrist and Monsieur on the other......and could tell instantly that they were very different. My suggestion--if you have samples of both--compare them like this. You'll see a clear difference as well.

In the end--I'm still trying to decide if I want to add L'Homme to my summer rotation. I already own Monsieur as my "comfort" scent.

Thanks everyone for the input. BTW Teach13 I am referencing YSL For Men, not L'Homme.

A thousand times no! Chanel PM is more focused on velvet-smooth spices. It is completely polished, and not a thing is out of place. YSL PH is (intentionally?) very challenging, sharp, focused on high pitched citrus and rough moss, and is not at all polished. I don't like it very much: searing green lemon-wood is not my thing.

Not similar. As already said, CpM, especially the vintage, is a very "smooth" spicy citrus frag, while TSL pH is a bordeline-powerhouse kind of dirty lemony vetiver frag. I prefer the YSL by miles.
