Have they changed the Rive Gauche bottle recently?

Hey guys! I just got my second bottle ever of Rive Gauche, and the last bottle I had looked very different to this one.

This one is still aluminum, but lacks the YSL logo on the top of the cap like my old one, and has a sticker on the bottom part of it with the name and info instead of it being printed right on there like on my old one.

I ordered from a reputable retailer, the codes on the bottle and box match and I doubt that it's a fake but this bottle is so UGLY compared to the one I had before. What have they done?!

The new bottle for men is a squat blocky black one with the notes on the side -- I think it is 80ml.

YSL repackaged most of their fragrances earlier this year, and upper the prices.

They have destroyed Y edt, but I am lucky to have squirrelled away the edp.

This is the feminine Rive Gauche, but if they changed the pour homme bottle then I guess it makes sense that they did this one too.

Have the reformulated the juice too? To me, it smells the same, but then it's been a while since I had my last bottle, so I could be wrong.

Rive Gauche was reformulated back in 2003, I believe. I am not aware of any changes to the fragrance since then (However, I do know that Rive Gauche pour Homme was recently decimated and given a new glass bottle...what a shame!). Anyway, back to the topic at hand, the reformulated juice is still quite good in my opinion; however it has been cleaned up, most noticeably in the top notes. Luca Turin describes the old Rive Gauche as more medicinal and the new Rive Gauche as more edible. As for the bottle, please refer to the images below. For more information on the reformulation/changes to Rive Gauche, check out this Bois de Jasmin article.

Hope this helps!

Thank you so much, that's super helpful!

Looks about right, I used to have the first bottle and the new one looks a lot like the second. Not too big of a difference but the damn sticker annoys me, looks cheap.

I think the drydown is just beautiful on Rive Gauche. I make sure to put it on an hour or so before I leave the house, seeing as the top notes are a bit sharp, but once it's settled it's amazing. That and not many people my age (22) wear it, which I like. ^^
