Dumb Luck Find/Buy of the Day--Creed Bayrhum Vetiver!

Okay, please forgive me for gloating a bit. Creed fanboy (or sucker) that I am, I received a call today from a Neiman Marcus store and was offered a full unopened flacon of Creed Bayrhum Vetiver that was discovered hiding in a dusty drawer in the fragrance department (along with a flacon ofPrivate Collection Jasmal which is probably awesome)! Mind you there is hardly any Creed fragrance I am in need of. I couldn't resist. The BV flacon is now in transit (hopefully will survive the journey without leaking). To be sure, Creed BV is not a holy grail type of scent, but is it among the most rare Creed Private Collection fragrances there is. The particular flacon I am receiving is from 2001. I had an 8-10 ml sample of BV a little more than a year ago. It has a definite retro "barbershop" vibe with spices including clove and cumin. I detect a slight sour "pickle" element to it in the drydown. Looking forward to enjoying this one on occassion. BN Creed haters, please forgive me

Martin

Sounds like a great lucky find to me - and a testament to building a good customer / client relationship.

If it's 2001 it may be quite robust, pre all the IFRA nonsense that has affected everyone.

From one Creed fanboy to another, enjoy! If all I had were Creeds, I'd be just fine.

Like Mr Reasonable said, this is a testament to your good relationship with the SA's. Good for you and well done on this very rare acquisition.

To this date its still the only Creed I've not had the pleasure to try. Enjoy it!

Photo of long discontinued Creed Bayrhum Vetiver Private Collection (leaked a good 25mls in transit) just added. Also a photo of vintage Jasmal from when it was a Private Collection fragrance. Now I am very interested in knowing who was the person that Bayrhum Vetiver was made for intially? I'd also be interested in what person the Jasmal was made for. All Creed Private Collection fragrances were reported to have been made as a bespoke fragrance with the agreement that after a number of years, perhaps 15 or 20 years, the fragrance could be marketed to others as a Private Collection fragrance.

I'm sure Olivier (and Laurice Rhame) would recall the origins of Bayrhum Vetiver and Jasmal, but I"m thinking Erwin might not.

My home office is pleasantly permeated with the clovey-spicy smell of Bayrhum Vetiver. This is an extremely potent and long lasting fragrance. I'm thinking 3 sprays max, lest I become "the cologne guy." Martin
