My Lucky Day, Guerlain Derby Bee Bottle

Marie Line Patry who is the National Fragrance Director for Guerlain was at Saks in Boca Raton Florida today. During our conversation I was mentioning that I have been searching for six months to find Derby in the small Bee Bottle, to my surprise, she said, no problem and handed me a brand new, never opened box containing Derby in the Bee Bottle.

Well, needless to say, I am now the proud owner of this marvelous fragrance in the only bottle it deserves to be in.

Congrats! Beautiful scent and presentation.

A caveat not to store your bottle with the atomizer bulb installed- I found out the hard way with my Philtre D'amour and Vetiver Pour Elle Bee bottles that the juice evaporates if left that way. Once I reinstalled the regular cap- no problems.

Very nice! I couldn't deal with that atomizer though.

I waited for a bee bottle to appear on eBay too! Congrats, Derby is fantastic and it looks great in the bee!

Congrats, looks great.

I remember seeing these at neiman marcus, last time I checked.

Their bulb atomizers are junk. I always decant into a mini atomizer.

I have that same bottle, much nicer than the ugly wooden one. +1 on what other said about the pump. Dab is the way to go, Derby is strong anyway.

I'm jealous! And you are right, Derby NEEDS to be in Bee bottle.

Wow, congrats, that is really awesome. Am I to understand that she GAVE you a Derby bee bottle for free?

Also, why were you so set on the small bee bottle, does that mean it is vintage? I noticed that the label is in silver/black instead of gold, I wonder if that signifies anything.

You know what!!! Now that I think more about it. Why not ask for the 180 ans?

Wish it was free. Just happy that my search finally ended.

Makes sense

FYI, I spotted some at the Nieman Marcus in Palo Alto, CA. Betcha could call the Guerlain counter if you're dying to get your hands on one.

Are we talking about any old bee bottle of Derby, or some specific size/vintage of bee bottle? I'm still confused if the smaller bottle with the black/silver label is different from the bigger bottle with gold label.

The label is silver. Just looks like there is some black because it was shot with my cell phone. When you say bigger bottle, what size are you speaking about?

Good tip, Knit!

Yes, NEVER store your fragrance with the bulb sprayer. Leaking and evaporation will result.

Palm Beach, enjoy! I have one bee bottle of Derby in use, and I had the foresight to get another backup.

Haha, uh, I actually have no idea. You said "I have been searching for six months to find Derby in the small Bee Bottle" so I guess I thought maybe there was a smaller bee bottle and a larger one. As far as I know, I've just seen it in 125ml size.

So, are all bee bottles of Derby the same vintage? I was under the impression that some bee bottles might be vintage, but I don't know how to tell.

My Derby bee bottle has a white ribbon on top and a gold label. I wonder what the difference is also. It didn't come with a bulb atomizer either.

Just A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E! Congrats PalmBeach.

Everything i have been told by the Guerlain people, Derby can still be special ordered in the 500ml and 1L Bee Bottle, but not the 125ml, thus the reason I said small bottle.

I felt a warm wave come over me as I look at the bottle and presentation.

Just out of my curiosity: why she ad a 125ml bottle with her?

Honestly, cannot say why. She had several other discontinued items with her. Vetiver Pour Elle in Bee Bottle, also had Iris Ganache.

It seems there was some discussion of the different labels and ribbon in this thread last year.
